Yao has the edge over Pau because of his height and because of his shooting touch. Also, Yao has had exceptional durability, Pau has had two seasons where he missed more than twenty games, trust me that jackass was on my fantasy team last year, between him and Zach Randolph's sorry butt I was forced to start Reggie Evans for half the season.
Look...its really quite simple: Yao and Pau are statisctically the same for one reason only. Yao gets triple teamed on a constant basis and Pau does not....end of comparison!
I still don't understand why people are complaining about Yao's numbers. As mentioned earlier in this thread, when you consider the numbers of Yao vs. KG in his first 5 seasons, and other great players, as well, you'll notice they are strikingly similar. I think too many people want the here and now results b/c Yao played "professional" ball in China. Goodness people, that's the Chinese league we're talking about. YOu can't expect him to be a hot shot best in the NBA just because he previous played in China. All of that said, I had high hopes of him progressing more quickly. However, he's still young and still early in his NBA career. Give him just a couple more years and tell me then that's he's not the best center in the NBA.

If you actually didnt understand what i wrote...then i recommend HCC english courses for you maybe that would help you.
Pau is not better than Yao. But he is more consistent than Yao. When Yao plays against weak player, more like he will play like a weak player, when he plays against a super star, he plays like a super star. That is his biggest problem. And stop fouling, damnit!!!
Yes...1st game of the season. Pau and Yao are two totally different players or at least they have different roles. Pau does get double teamed all the time abd tripled when he gets it going. To thank Yao is going to get more defensive attention when he plays with T Mac (the best offensive player in the league) and Pau plays with Eddie Jones is just crazy. The problem with defending Pau is that he takes small guys in the post and big guys off the break. He is a hard matchup. Pau and Yao are about equal as far as level of play IMO.
And Pau is more aggressive and Yao has bigger size. So they are about at the same level. Watching Yao playing basketball is more and more boring. He didn't look like in his rookie year. I blame it on JVG. He is such a boring coach. A cancer for basketball game!
The more important question is What is the 4 legged green animal the bananna rider is riding.? Is this beast of burden a herbivore? Is the dancing bananna tired trying to keep up with the bananna rider? So many questions, I'm so busy!
Yao and Pau are at about the same level now, and I'm afriad that neither will get much better. They are both borderline all-star level players.
