This is good news for our troops. This is the beginning of the end. Maybe Bush and diminshing group of loyal followers on the war like TJ, Basso and Hayes will accuse not only Democrats, but moderate Republicans, of not supporting the troops or giving comfort to the terrorsts. These Senators can see the polls and they are not willing to risk their kids or even their careers for the war. You can't long fight a war, particularly an elective one, with the majority against it and so many of the nominal followers unwilling to volunteer and fight. The Senators apparently don't thibnk Bush's latest speeches, shrill as they may be, will be effective in turning around the growing tide against his Iraq caper.

Perhaps this is why we see Chalabi in town-- hoping desperately that he will be our friend again and can have some pull with the Iranians who will take a good part of Iraq into their orbit. Way to go George!

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 - In a sign of increasing unease among Congressional Republicans over the war in Iraq, the Senate is to consider on Tuesday a Republican proposal that calls for Iraqi forces to take the lead next year in securing the nation and for the Bush administration to lay out its strategy for ending the war.

Bush Sr. was a navy man. I guess he taught his son to go down with the ship. The U.S.S Iraq War is sinking. Have a nice trip to the bottom George.

They have ideas, just not the votes in Congress to get most of them approved. Plus there is that right wing problem in the White House. Hopefully the 2006 elections will begin the start of correcting that majority problem in Congress.

GOP senators holding a GOP president accountable for his war.

    Strange bedfellows indeed.
