    Sanford and Son
    Greatest American Hero
    Cheers

First three that came to my mind. Unfortunately... looks like others thought the same thing!

    Monday Night Football

    Land of the Lost

    Speed Racer

    Sanford and Son

    I Dream of Jeannie

Friends (didn't the theme music make it to the top 10?)

    The Beverly Hillbillies

    Gilligan's Island

The theme for M*A*S*H didn't fit the show. I kinda like the song a little (I like slow, morbid songs) but the show was a comedy. Just didn't seem to fit.

The concept is morbid. But the people at CBS decided to make a comedy out of it. Seems like the whole world liked that show except me (very Shawshank-ish, I'd say).

    Some times
    Some Crimes
    Go slipplin' through the cracks
    But these two
    Gum-shoes
    Are pickin' up the slack
    There's no case to big
    No case to small
When you need help just call

    Ch-ch-ch-Chip 'n Dale
    Rescue Rangers
    Ch-ch-ch-Chip 'n Dale
    When there's danger

    Oh no, it never fails
    They'll take the clues
And find the wheres and whys and whos

    Ch-ch-ch-Chip 'n Dale.

MASH was awesome... morbid shows? Have you seen the "top shows" on all the networks? CSIs, Law & Orders and countless other murder to solve cases... come on, it is TV for freaks sake.

Did other shows of this era have a soundtrack on vinyl?

Opening theme song is a classic.

There's an awesome extended version you can find on LimeWire.

All of the Disney Afternoon Themes were great.

Okay, M.A.S.H. reminds me of a couple of shows. First the M.A.S.H unit drama on ABC, China Beach, with Dana Delany and her gorgeous legs. The theme song was "Reflections" by the Supremes.

Then I thought about "Thirtysomething" but I couldn't remember their theme song and finally "The Wonder Years" which had a good theme song.

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

    Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you
What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

When it seems they're headed for the final curtain
Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain
The worst of messes become successes!

    Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!
