Once again I need to call upon the power of the bbs to help me find someone that can paint a couple rooms in my house. I'd do it myself but my living room has really high walls that would be a b****, the walls are a dark color that will take a while to paint over, and I'm lazy. I just need to get the living and dining rooms done.

So if you've had any painting done recently and could reccomend someone I would greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone knows how much painting a couple of rooms costs then let me know, beccause I don't have a clue. I live in West Houston, so it would be best if I could find someone that works on that side of town.

They did my 3 story townhouse for $1700. Used quality sherwin williams paint and they did a good job covering up everything before they started.

My father was a painting contractor, but he's retired. Unless you want a mural on that wall. His good friend, who was foreman when I was building my house, is a good experienced painter: Jesus (Jesse) Gaytan. I can email a cell number, though I don't know if it is still the same one.

    H-

Let me know if these recs don't work out. I've remodeled a couple of homes in the past few months, and have worked with a great painter.

I'm in the same boat as Harrisment ... I need to find a very good interior painter. Good price is nice, but I don't want to skimp on quality. I will probably be getting quite a bit painted (living room, kitchen, dining room, entry, possibly master).

I may have a good recommendation for you guys here in a week or so.

My painter will be starting my whole house next week and finishing by the end of the month. I've seen some of his work already and its very impressive (hes very picky about his quality in a good way).

    Ill keep yall updated.

Clutch - A co-worker of mine reccomended a guy, and he stopped by a few days ago and gave us an estimate. He seems very professional and his prices are good. He'll have some guys painting my house this Saturday, so if everything goes well I'll give you his info.

BTW, coma, how'd that plumbing go?

The guy who did my house - exterior, roof, everything - was amazing and was an excellent deal.

His name is Miguel (Mike) De Los Santos - 713-498-4715.

Tell him I gave you his number (Jeff Balke).

He and his crew did a TON of work on my house - re-roof down to the deck, re-painted the exterior including sanding the whole house, replace a lot of rotten boards including both siding and foundation boards, fixed my gates, put in a new gutter in the back, interior French doors installed and painted, exterior doors installed...all of that in less than 3 weeks AND it rained almost every day!!! In comparison, the guy across the street took longer JUST to get his exterior painted and they didn't even sand the whole house down.

Mike has done work for my relatives and their friends - all of whom are MUCH pickier and cheaper than I am to nothing but rave reviews.

My handyman does great interior painting. He's based in Bellaire. Let me know if you are interested and I will email you his contact info. He does good work for a reasonable price.

    Jeff-

I had a very bad experience w/ this guy. I know he did a great job for you, and he did a good job for me as well. That is, until he left the job midway through the project. I tried to call him, I left him messages, but he hasn't called me back yet. He put me back at least $2000.

Thats the frustrating thing about subs. I've used a ton since Im building a home right now, and have found that even if they have great references, theyll still screw you.

BTW ..never pay a contractor money up front. EVER. Most of them don't require that. The ones that do, they are using your money to pay for materials and labor from a previous job.

Damn Harrison, should have let me know... I have a guy who does normal bedrooms for like 125 bucks each and larger rooms for a tad more.

My dad & brothers have a house painting business in the NW for 20+ years. ask for Tom Wade @ 281 351 7994. They are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. I used to help them when I was in high school. That sucked big time.

Hey Harrisment -- how did your painting go? I tried emailing you, but your BBS email is old. I'm trying to set up estimates today. Thanks again to everyone who offered suggestions.

Oops, sorry. He did an awesome job. They knocked the job out fairly quickly and it looks great. Shoot me an email at trayharrison@gmail.com and I'll give you his contact info; that reminds me I need to update my bbs address.
