Del Taco is gross. The one around here actually hires mentally handicap people, which i have no problem with, but the food is just not good.
Blah.... Y'all talk way too early. BTW, I tried to find out if Taco Cabana was available for franchise.... Unfortunately, the bastards said no, which is r****ded. It's now owned by a conglomerate that also owns BK. Soooooo, does anyone know a good, competitive Taco Cabana Competitor that is willing to franchise? Two Pesos need not apply.
As my girlfriend's brother once said, "When you go to Taco Bell, you simply tell them what shape you want your taco in. Today, I told them I wanted a pizza-shaped taco, and I got a pizza-shaped taco." That's also coming from the same guy who once went through a Taco Bell/KFC Drive Thru and asked for a "Go**amn liter-a-cola."
Del Taco....man you're bringing back the old school Houston food memories. Some of my favorites: Angelo's Fishermans Wharf Gaidos on Main St. (With the pistol packing 20 foot high jumbo shrimp outside) Sonny Look's Ninfa's on Navigation in the mid-70s (It's still good and I love eating/drinking there before an Astros game...it's just not as "line out the door" crowded as it used to be! )
one of my dad's best friends growing up was Eddie Angelo! his daughter opened up an Angelo's Fishermans Wharf on the Grand Parkway near I-10 out in Katy. unfortunately it didn't make it...recently closed down.
Yeah, all of the subsequent locations they opened kind of paled in comparison to the original. I remember eating there as a kid and getting so loaded up on boiled shrimp and oysters on the half shell that I didn't have room for the main course. My family used to love that place when I was a kid.
