i installed the new pplive as well as the patch and it plays for a little while for me but then eventually not only cuts off but completely disconnects my internet connection. does anyone what the deal is? im using a router if that makes any difference.
ok, i disconnected my router and have my desktop plugged in directly to the modem and it's working beautifully. does anyone know why it won't work with the router?
For some reason, the 800K seed does not always run smoothly for me, although it has in the past. One thing you could try is log on to one of the other seeds for CCTV-5. The video quality suffers a bit, but for a diehard Rox fan in Illinois, it works just fine.
well i have it working flawlessy on the 800K one when i have the router disconnected. im wondering how to make it work with the router so i can use my laptop.
Why is PPlive giving me an "Check your network connection" error when trying to connect to CCT5? I'm able to connect to some channels, but majority of them are giving the same error I'm not behind a router or firewall, tried changing the default port. Any help will be appreciated
I'm using StreamTVNOW behind a router and getting pretty good picture. It's not choppy and it's mostly clear but not totally clear. $3/month.
I managed to connect to CCTV-5 via PPStream, experiencing alot of hiccups though, sometime i can't even tell if the player scored or missed.
Everyone who's having problems with PPStream and PPLive should try installing this patch. I was having sporadic problems with PPLive and was able to connect occasionally with varying quality, but after installing the patch, everything just worked perfectly. I can now connect every time and the video quality is much better (no more choppiness).
I watched it using ppstream on My mother -in-laws PC which is 450 mhz 256 MB Ram. it was flawless. Maybe because their cable connection is extremely fast. I have DSL back in Houston and it is OK> not as good as with this cable connection. My PC back home is faster than this PC but my DSL connection is above average. This is a below average PC with a superior connection. Go figure. I go through a router at home because I have multiple PC hooked up. Here she is hooked straight into her cable modem. Here is the speed she is getting on her old PC: Speed 763.6 kilobits per second Communications 763.6 kilobits per second Storage 93.2 kilobytes per second 1MB file download 11 seconds Subjective rating Good
Right click the icon of pplive, find option-network-port, remember the two port numbers and make a port forwarding for them. Read the manual of your router about how to do this.
You downloaded an old version from the english site which looks like it hasn't been updated for a long time. Go to the chinese download page and download PPlive from there.
yeah as nexxes said, you must have downloaded the english version = outdated version. The newer chineese version will allow u to follow the cctv link directly from the pplive.com webpage. here is a link to the chineese channel page translated in english: http://babelfish.altavista.digital....?lp=zh_en&url=http://www.chzdy.com/tvlive.asp
I am in L.A., I have been using PPLIVE or PPSTREAM for awhile. The quality is always smooth for me. I dont think internet speed is a problem for any you who have DSL or Cable. The problem are most likely in your router/firewall/ISP configuration. Make sure the stream data is not blocked. Also if you have XP SP2, there is half open TCP/IP connection limit which is 10. That could be a problem too. Good luck everybody.
for those who get choppy video and sound on PPLIVE, go to your options and change the buffer options to buffer proportion and then just adjust the %. For reference, I'm using dsl with a dl speed of around 150kb/s and on first try i changed it to 20%. Then i closed WMP and then reopened a new one and it worked flawlessy for the whole entire game. I'm sure theres options in PPStream too, but too bad noone can read the damn menus. At school PPStream works great, but that might be because well, we have T3 over there.
It's on NBAtv. And I was watching NBAtv on PPstream a few weeks ago, but I can't seem to find it now. WizzyWig brought it up first: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=103988&highlight=nbatv Hey Wizzy. Is NBAtv still on PPstream.
