Hakeem Olajuwon's daughter has decided to play basketball at Oklahoma. Abi Olajuwon, a 6-foot-3 center, led her high school in Sherman Oaks, Calif., to three consecutive state titles and averaged 15.9 points and 14.4 rebounds last season as a junior. "She obviously has great size, excellent hands and is a very physical, punishing type of player," Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale said. "Couple her willingness to learn with her tremendous skill set and she should have a very special collegiate career." Her father led the Houston Rockets to NBA titles in 1994 and 1995. The 7-footer was a 12-time All-Star and MVP in 1994. Posted by Cay Dickson at November 10, 2005 09:35 PM http://www.beloblog.com/KHOU_Weather_Watch/archives/2005/11/hakeem_olajuwon.html#more
Only if she inherited that Dream shake. Someone do a DNA test to make sure that she got her genes from Hakeem, and not great grandfather or something..
That's not from Hakeem marriage. Remember Hakeem's wife probably isn't even 25. That's a child he had when he was young. I think he and the mother were having problems with custody back in the day. The girl's mother is really pretty from what I remember.
Its funny, Karl Malone has daughter from before his marraige and his kid plays at some college, and I think Larry Bird also. They're all girls. I guess they have something to prove, although in the case of Bird and Malone, those guys weren't involved in their kids' lives but Hakeem wanted his.
I know it doesn't mean much, but her last name is Olajuwon. I would expect it to be from marriage. I guess Hakeem is flexable.
One thing about Hakeem you have to remember is that back in his home he is royalty. Those dudes can't be having some illegitimate kids running around that they aren't taking care of. It looks bad and I'm sure that played a lot into the situation. Hakeem probably was adjusting to culture and demanding that the girl's mother marry him and that was probably a compromise. He was pretty hot headed and arrogant in his younger days. My mother has a friend who married this Nigerian prince and when he took her over to his country she found out she wasn't the only wife and wasn't even going to be living in the main house. she came back here.
That sucks. A real man would nut up and say, "You sure you want to marry me? I have 17 wives and you are not my favorite."
