That's stupid, if we Trade Yao and DW we better have J-Rich, Baron Davis and Troy Murphy in a rockets uniform.
How about a three way trade? Goldenstate Sends to Minnesota: Murphy + Jason Richardson + Ike Diogula Minnesota Sends to Houston: Kevin Garnett + Micheal Obewonakanobi Houston Sends to Goldenstate: Yao + Howard + Wesley
You don't need a dominant internal force to win a championship or to make it to the finals. Examples: Jordan's Bulls 96-98 Jazz (made it to the finals) 95-96 Sonics (made it to the finals) 00-01 sixers (made it to the finals) 01-03 Kidd's nets (made it to the finals) U can win without a dominant center. It just makes it easier if you have one.
I’m sorry but I respectably disagree. I thought the point was to win the NBA Finals not just make it. Excluding the Bulls because they won their Finals the rest of the teams you listed lost to a team with a dominant big man. 96-98 Jazz lost to MJ (Ostertag was Jazz’s inside presence) 95-96 Sonics lost to MJ (Kemp was Sonics’ inside presence) 00-01 Sixers lost to Shaq and the Lakers 01-03 Nets lost to Duncan and the Spurs and also to Shaq and the Lakers. The Rockets will not get past San Antonio or Phoenix (when Amare gets back) without a dominant internal force. If they were so lucky to get a finals, they definitely would have trouble with Miami, Indiana, and Detroit.
well Yao is a good player but he is no KG.. maybe a few more years. but KG is definately better and he's still relatively young and still in his prime. I also think he will last longer than Yao. big men seem to decline fast no a days with the exception of Kareem who played forever! anyways.. ANYONE who wouldnt take KG for YAO is clearly a YOF. Cause KG is and will be the superior player than Yao. Theres nothing wrong with thats basically 98% of the NBA.. a few exceptions Duncan, Lebron, Kobe, Tmac, etc rank up there with KG
r u serious, he has had a double double in the first 2 games, it is 3 games into the season, it is not time to hit the panic button...yao is looking good, the rest of the team needs to hit some damn shots...also with tmac out they can double team him and dont have to worry bout our shooters hitting a shot this thread is freakin stupid
Please don't put labels on people. It's like saying anyone who would like to do a KG for Yao trade is a Yao hater and I just don't that is the case. I just think most people would do the trade because KG right now is better than Yao. For the record, I wouldn't do the trade. Good Centers are hard to find and young good centers at that. Plus Yao has shown that he improves each year ... KG's career avg's is 20pts, 11 Rebs and I feel that Yao will have similar numbers this year.
You are kidding right? KG can score where ever he wants, plus he is a significantly better defender. There are only four guys I'd trade Yao to get: KG LJames Duncan Kobe Ayone of these guys paired with Tmac would have to be considered strong championship contendors.
