after watching years of basketball..I think most teams end up giving it in the post and then kicking it out for the open shot anyway...and either driving it in or hitting the three point shot..so basically ive been reading some comments about giving up on the post entirely and bashing it..its inevitable to go there..I forgot the users names but its a very bad idea we should diversify it not get rid of it...

Actually it's not even an offense Wizard, it's a spacing system that everybody league during the course of every game falls into.

Due to NBA rules, when you throw it down to the low block, double teams will follow, and it would be easy to double team if the offense wasn't well spaced. Thus the 3 point phenomenon, with every body standing out there.

Problem with the Rockets being for years they had the ultimate inside threat in Hakeem (when he was at his peak). Rudy realized that he could use good shooters to comment, and the defense would have to play pick your poison.

Now Hakeem is old, and nearing retirement and we lack the outside threats we once had. Thus we have a stronger need to diversify offensively. Problem is though Dream and Chuck will want the ball on the low block, and when this happens the spacing system, inevitably, reforms and now without good shooters, who can stick that shot.

This is a big part of the 4th quarter blues we have. The game slows down in the 4th, and becomes a bunch of half court possesions. We then often go into our superstars Hakeem and Chuck and without that shooting, they double, we don't hit, we die. That may be part of the reason Drew sees more time in the 4th (which he shouldn't), for shooting purposes.

The system is inevitable, especially for any team with a dominant big man, especiallu centers. Its why the Lakers wanted to team Rice with Shaq.
