I swear, some of you guys have bipolar disorder or something...

When we first signed Stromile Swift it was:
"HE'S GOING TO BE 15/10 AND AN ALL-STAR!!!!111"

    Then we got Derek Anderson:
"THE PERFECT BACKUP AT SF!!! HE'S SO TALENTED!!111"

Then someone posted a few pictures of Yao running on a track:
"YOA IZ DA MANN. LOOK AT HIS GUNNSSS!!! HE 25/12 THIZ YERARRR!! WE"ERE BETTA TAHN TEH SPERS!!"

Now, we stumble out of the gate and it's:
"TRADE YOA< TRADE SKIP, TRADE TMAC, TRADE CD, FIRE JVG"

Isn't there middle ground in there anywhere?
We were never better than the Spurs. We were never "second best in the west." We were only potentially second best in the west.

None of the people we signed in the offseason were meant to "carry us over the top." Stromile has been nothing but an underachiever his entire career. He can potentially be a great fit for the team, but is still a role player nonetheless. Our offseason acquisitions were nothing more than a way to bolster depth and become slightly younger and more athletic. Our team will still only go as far as TMac/Yao will take them

Yao is one of those guys who improves incrementally. Those of you who were expecting an MVP season are expecting way too much. Look at his previous three years. He's never going to have a "breakout" season. Instead, he's a smart guy who knows the game and will get slightly better every year. There's one thing you guys have failed to notice on the stat sheet. He's taking a lot of shots. They're not always smart shots, but the fact that he's willing to take those shots is proof of increased aggressiveness this year. Last year he would've COMPLETELY disappeared.

Right now, our offense looks horrible...but it was like this last season as well. When you have so many new players (2 of which are starting now), you're going to have an ass-load of chemistry issues. Moreover, the guy our team is built around is out for a few weeks. Have PATIENCE.

That was one ugly game. It is so important that this team doesnt bury itself so early in the season.

No, we won't play spurs in the second round. The even brighter spot is we won't go 0-82. So congratulations rox!!

Man, I am wondering what fans have become nowadays, or better to say, what people have become now. Everybody wants great results now, or even yesterday. After two losses, look at the fist page filling up with negative threads. What a shame to this team and this board. Fans are supposed to be over-reacting, but this? Come on! 2 new starters, two guys just recovered from surgury or illness, option #1 guy is unavailable now. What do you guys really expect? Geez, some of them are calling our players wuss, maybe now it's time for those guys to grow up a little bit, not necessary man up, that would be too much to ask.

Ugly game last night, but im not really worried. We will have growing pains, again, with all the new guys on the team. T-Mac being gone right now totally sucks, however I think it may actually help this team in the long run. They need to learn to stand on their own feet and depend on themselves rather than passing the buck, or the ball, to T-Mac and hoping he can bail them out.

That being said...TMAC PLEASE HURRY BACK!!!!!!

He has a weak performance. He started off strong, then got fronted and denied the ball. I believe he had 3 or 4 shot attempts in the 2nd half? Hard to make a difference without the ball. He did his job on D. He did what he was able to given the few touches he had in the 2nd half. with that said, he missed big shots down the stretch. He made mistakes, every player did last night.

I'm not a YOF, but I think it's stupid that you would lump and generalize people into groups because they have some sort of opinion that opposes yours. Or wait, let me be like you, I hate YOH or Yao Haters, or whatever the lame labels are. Are you really so high stung you hate people for their opinions? deeeeeeeezam.

I love Yao, his numbers have been solid so far. But I hate people who think Yao can carry a team, thats just dumb.

Give a name, a single name, in the games nowadays, who can and who did carry a team single-handedly to success.

    Questions about Steve Francis.
Is he not with Reebok anymore?
It look like he was sporting Nikes in last nights game.
If so did he lose his star power by going to Orlando?

And we all saw what Tmac did on a team with Juwan Howard as the 2nd best player...Yao can carry a team just fine if you spend tmac's 20 million dollar salary on some shooters and penetrators.

A truly excellent post! You have summed up exactly the way I feel. I can't wait to see the posts after the Heat game...

    The sky is falling! :D

Relax, guys, even though we sucked the last 2 games, we're gonna be so much better before all star game.

All we need is some intensity and some better ball movement, we're gonna be fine even without TMac for now. Guys are looking real lost the last 2 games.

Depends how you define 'success', but as things stand now in the league, only two guys can do it: named Shaq and Duncan, and it's no coincidence that they are both big men. Those two are in a league by themselves, all the other "stars" fall far behind, but that's nothing against them really, it's just that Duncan and Shaq impact their teams/the game more than any other star player can do by himself.

Those are the only two that could, IMO.
