Is it just me or are the games on channel 51 just suck. They don't even have the score of the game at all times, and Drexler sucks as an announcer, and the majority of the time the game does not come clear.
Yea the quality on TV51 has always been bad. However, this is the first time they haven't had the score showing for some reason. Also, Drexler will be the color commentator for all home games, reguardless of the channel the game is on.
51 usually shows the score. must be having some tech issues tonight. it's kind of like watching a Rockets game from a decade ago.
Last nights game was the worst production values I have ever seen in a pro basketball game. Scores were not displayed. Shot clock was not displayed. Transitions were very poorly timed and were actually cutting off camera shots. Camera focus problems abound. When scores were shown (rarely) they were often wrong. What was this -high school- appreciation night?
Yeah, the chineese broadcast overlayed their own scoreboard over the KNWS feed, because TV51 wasn't showing the score at all times.
Fortunately, there are only a handful of games on 51 and only when things on Fox conflict, which is not often. KNWS is terrible, but it is a limited problem.
Just out of curiosity, does KNWS come in on digital cable any better than it used to on regular cable. I haven't lived in Houston for several years...
I remember back on regular cable we used to get better reception from KTRH on channel 2 than we did KNWS. It was terrible. I literally could not watch the games.
not on mine. but, Im thiking it must be a connection problem cause when I was working on my daughter;s computer I had her tv tuned to the game and it looked better than it does at my computer. so...for everyone having troubl with their cable, try going through your connections and tightening them up and see if that helps. If you have any splitters in your line, check to see if they are loose or old, you may need to replace them. Illbe going over this stuff at my house and see if it helps cause the KNWS signal is just horrible to try to cleanup.
I have cable too. Channel 51 looks like backwoods Kentucky rabbit ears with tin foil wrapped around them TV. I think Channel 51 bounces their signal to the satellite off a trashcan lid.
They do broadcast on digital 51-1 but it is not hidef. To me it seems like their camera's are out of focus.
I think it looks like they need to clean the camera lens. But after having HD, everything looks fuzzy & blurry. More FSN this week. Plus we will be on TNT HD vs. the Heat this week I believe. Get to hear Barkley bash Yao some more.
Hey R2K If I have the time, I can capture the channel 51 games and make torrents/highlights of them (my reception is only slightly crappy). What compression settings do you use when you create it?
hmmm this must be a regional problem because 51 is extremely clear for me (time warner cable/ Ikea area), only thing that is horrible is the recent absence of the scoreboard/clock and completely messed up camera feed.. but other than that.. erryting irie.. lol
