This is one helluva a way to fight a war. Imagine if Monty or Patton had burdened their troops with this crap. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFriendly/0,,1-523-1859664-523,00.html
You wouldn't consult a barrister in the first instance. Likely you would consult a solicitor. In the english system, the lawyers have two tiers (though this is changing---very gradually): the barristers are generally specialists who make court appearances and attend hearings (and wear the silly wigs although this is less frequent now I was told by a few QC's) The nuts and bolts legal work of providing legal advice, doing research, and more everyday stuff is done by solicitors. So if the hypothetical gentlemen wanted legal advice, likely their first stop would be a solicitor. Everybody knows that, silly gweenie - what's wrong with you?
Osama bin d******d, I do in fact know about solicitors versus barristers in the English system. I just thought barristers made for a better headline. Now run along, surely you have a terrorist to defend.
Gwayneco is probably the nicest person on these boards. He felt so bad at Basso being ridiculed so much for making unsubstantiated and false attacks against posters, accusing them of supporting and defending terrorists, that he felt he didn't want Basso to get lonely so gwayneco decided to join him.
"Consult your solicitor first..." clearly sounds better, so it sounds like you are just covering your tracks. That's okay though, we don't expect patriotic Americans to know about things outside our country.
American students have continually scored higher than their European counterparts on tests of geography and world issues. There was even one study where more American students were able to correctly label the United Kingdom than British students. Your opinion of your fellow Americans is sad.
And to think....this guy called ME a little boy Keep on posting Gwayneco...with every post of yours that is not a direct quote, you expose yourself more and more. Correct Gwayneco and you'll get called Osama bin d******d and a supporter of terrorists. Nice
source? thanks in advance. If that's the case, then our fellow poster here is below average and I shouldn't find him representative of american students. Having worked at a law firm praticing British law, most people I talked to in the US didn't know the difference between a solicitor and a barrister, but then i wouldn't expect them to learn that in their geography class. But I will honestly admit I have a much lower opinion of Americans than you do.
Having induced my 134th consecutive Gweener-dog Meltdown, I proudly state: THE TERRORISTS HAVE ALREADY WON!
