You're right Mack but I believe that Bird and Thomas had back problems more once they got into their mid 30's. I don't think those guys had those problems when they were in their prime like McGrady. BigM - I understand what you're saying but I think there is this perception (fair or not) that McGrady is injury-prone and it looks like that will only get worse with him now being out 3 f*cking weeks.
McGrady has averaged 75 games per year for the past 6 years -- hardly "fragile." For comparison, here are the averages of a few of the franchise players around the league over the same time span: Kevin Garnett: 81 Dirk Nowitski: 79 Paul Pierce T-Mac: 75 Tim Duncan: 75 Steve Nash: 73 Jason Kidd: 73 Kobe Bryant: 71 Allen Iverson: 67 Vince Carter: 55 Not too shabby for T-Mac, in my opinion.
If you look at his bones, they are really thin. It is like you have two poles poking at you all the time, especially when you jump and land. I believe that is why. There is another guy like mcgrady Keon Someone (can someone remind me who this guy is???) used to play for kings, very athletic, retired due to injury. they have the same type of boby.
I think its because he works so hard. At the hurricane relief game you could tell who was in game form and who wasnt. Gilbert Arenas and T-Mac were the only ones looking like they were killing themselves in the offseason. Get Well Soon Tracy! We need you!
