Crappy....UT owned today. Now, all we need is Miami to win, and TT to win by 15 and both teams combine for 70 pts and I will be one happy, beer buying man. DD
WHat I meant by Crappy wasn't by who won in the games today. But the majority of all the games were blow outs. (the ranked teams).
I am a lifelong A&M fan, and I (and most of my Aggie relatives) freely admit that A&M is going to get slaughtered today. Good Lord, Tech scored their first touchdown in 2 minutes and 32 seconds.
Yeah, I live in aggie land. I know it's not going to be pretty. Hopefully it won't be that bad of a slaughter. GO HORNED FORGS!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Fran is overwhelmed. He had success with R.C.'s guys. Having success at TCU an having success at a major program is two different things. The first thing you have to do is recruit. The 73-0 game was bad sign. Mack Brown even when cleaning up Mackovic's mess never had a day like that. And remember he took over a team that gave up a 66-3 loss to an Okay UCLA team the year before. I bet the folks at Alabama are laughing their asses off about the turn of events.
There was an interesting article in the Chronicle the other day about Fran, basically saying that he's already playing for next season. I haven't given up on him yet, but they need to fire Torbush yesterday. Having the 115th rated defense is beyond pathetic, especially in a conference like the Big 12. I think their problems this year can be attributed to three things: 1. Coordinators. Torbush needs to go, and their OC isn't anything to write home about, either. 2. Injuries. Among many other things, losing Chad Schroder this week for the rest of the year ain't gonna help. 3. Leadership. Right now, what separates McNeal from Vince Young is that Vince has evolved into a team leader for UT. Reggie has never grown into that role. In the ISU game last week, he ran in for a touchdown that was called back on a penalty, and instead of getting after whoever committed the penalty, he was laughing it up with the ISU defense. In a blowout, no less. I personally think that's inexcusable. The biggest hope for the future at A&M right now is the current crop of freshman and sophomore players that Fran has recruited. Jovorskie Lane could be the second coming of Toombs.
why does it seem like a&m is somehow covering tech's receivers better than we did? granted they used all short passes but tech completed all sorts of passes very quickly and against a&m hodges is looking all over the place for open guys and taking forever to throw and now they've stopped them again. can't believe they ran on 4th and 2. that coulda made the cover nice and easy and not it's a game.
I HATE a fake punt when you have the punter running for it. He's got a long way to go. I'd rather hike it to one of the blockers and have them go a shorter distance. Man its tough to watch the Aggies lately. At least I was there when they were decent and won a Big 12 title. Might be some time before we get back to that point.
This game is funny. The hyping of Dwayne Slay is hilarious. Do these clowns not realize that when he faced a decent offense...he looked like a 5th string, undrafted free agent practice squad goon? Texas didn't notice him. He didn't exist. His "ferocious" hits didn't happen - because Vince young, ramonce Taylor, Jamaal Charles, and Billy Pitman - didn't put themselves in positions to be hit. The funny thing is, I like watching Tech. They're fun. But would everyone please give up the genuine hype of a team that got utterly exposed a few weeks ago? It's like everyone's closing their eyes and ignoring their disgraceful performance against Texas.
4th still to come and lead still isn't big enough. Following this is like shaving your balls with a rough blade.
