I bought an LCD television for my sister today and will be taking it to her tomorrow. In her house, she has DISH network. If I remember correctly, her television in her bedroom is not connected to anything. It is just plugged in to the wall and somehow gets DISH network programming. There is no receiver in her bedroom.

So can she just plug the LCD tv in and get DISH programming? I do not know if the DISH Network technician did anything to her current TV during the initial installation that she would have to repeat. Your help is appreciated. Thanks :)

Does she have Dish Network DVR? The TV in her bedroom might be the second set hooked up to the DVR. If that is the case, the LCD should also work with it.

I'm pretty sure that it has to be connected to a box to get dish, you sure she just isn't getting over the air on that one. Either that or theres a cable run to it that you are missing

There has to be some wire connecting the T.V. to either a receiver or an outlet in the wall.

We'll just have to double check. I'm sure she gets DISH programming on that TV. I'll just have to see if there is something from the wall that is connected to the TV. I know for a fact that there is no receiver and no DVR. That's what had me so confused about it. I am a cable customer and with cable, you have a physical connection. I wasn't sure if dish required the same or not.

She must have a dual tuner 322 receiver. With this, you can just run a coaxial cable to the 2nd tv, and control it with the provided UHF remote (which travels through walls). Im sure you could just plug that coaxial cable into the back of the LCD TV

Yea... that's what I was thinking. The dish network DVR works this way.
