After I click on the Programs, then the menu pops up on the next page. When I click on "Play" button on the third-link down on the list, nothing happens? After 2 or 3 seconds, it says "done" on the bottom of the same page and it doesn't take me anywhere. Do I need to open up that pplive that I downloaded? I assumed this would open up when I click on the play option on the pplive site.
That's what I was getting with the old version. That doesn't happen on the new version. For me, nothing happens on the new version.
Wow. I wish I had that many options on mine. Here is all I see. Maybe it's because I'm on Windows 2000, and you're on XP, I'm guessing? Just to verify, I am on version 1.0.9.5:
I also had the frozen version with the golf player. I closed the old version and started the new version (thanks for posting the link on rapidshare). Now it works!!!! It buffered really fast and started playing - and the quality is much better than I expected!!! Awesome.
Try uninstall the old version and re-install the new version. The old version does not work any more.
After you install PPlayer, when you try to run it, there should be a blue icon with an arrow pointing down on your right hand corner of your screen next to the clock, right click and and you will see a word Languages, and some ????, just click "language", and choose English. And then when you right click the icon again, everything will be in English, click option, and then a window will pop up, choose player option, you will see "player path, and players asf, set it to C:\Program Files\PPLive TV\PPPlayer.exe. After that, you should be able to watch PPLive now. I just got it to work today, better then StreamTV, the only problem is I don't understand what they are saying. But the picture quality is great if you have cable connection and a fast computer.
i wanted to also mention that im on XP and having the same prob as moomoo and a few others, so not having XP isn't the problem.
I did that already -- I also went through the registry and found everything that related to pplive and got rid of it. No luck then. So now I just tried it on a different machine, fresh install and no luck . . .
I got it working but it is really slow . Can anybody recommend what to do to improve the speed. I am at a hotel using their wireless connection. I will really appreciate any suggestion to make it viewable. Righ now, it is not fun at all.
I tried it, and it didn't work. I think all that does is chooses the media player program that PPLive uses once it starts broadcasting (I prefer MPlayer Classic, but I said what the hell and tried what you said to do anyways). I think my problem (well, one of them) seems to be that I can't even get a decent channel list:
