He's been struggling with injuries recently (as well as Joe Smith). Part of the reason they made such a move for Magloire. Ford looked outstanding last night. I'll be half-expecting/fearing another injury all season, though. Here's hoping it's all behind him. Webber put up numbers, but I don't think he'll ever be himself again. Didn't seem like he made much of an impact on defense at all. Evan
Not to take anything away from the Bucks, but when you look at the box score it's pretty evident why the Sixers lost. Iverson and Webber each took a mind boggling 28 shots. 56 shots between the two of them. I guess that's somewhat expected though, but what really blows me away is John Salmons coming off the bench to be the only other player to get into double digits in shot attempts. 12 shots for Salmons. None of the other starters on the Sixers got more than 7 shots, with Iguodala only having taken 4? FOUR?!?! I don't know how you keep a team happy with that kind of ball distribution. TJ Ford, however, knows how to keep his teammates happy!
I was glad to see T.J. have a good game. Hopefully he keeps this up and becomes the comeback player of the year.
I remember emailing Tony Kornheiser’s radio show when T.J. was drafted. He was saying how he didn’t see why people thought he was better than Hinrich. I lit in to him talking about how he doesn’t have any in-depth knowledge of sports away from the East Coast. I wrote that if he knew anything, T.J. was the best player on the best H.S. team in the COUNTRY two years in a row. He led to Texas to the first Final Four in I don’t know how many years and took that program to another level just by his play. Hinrich is a nice player but T.J. is special. But it just pissed me off that he really didn’t understand why T.J. was so good. Ford has belonged in the NBA since his senior year at Willowridge.
Yeah, I don't really follow the East nearly as much as the West. But the Bucks (thanks in part to TJ) are my favorite team in the East. I hope they make the playoffs this year.
Everybody needs 3 bigs (C/PFs), plenty of PT for Bogut, Magloire and Gadz. Of course AI and CW took the majority of shots, but they still got 14 assists between them. That is how Phily will play most their games around their two playmakers. I thought after the trade yesterday, and before I had seen if TJ could play, they were in great shape. Milwalkee has size, and quality at every position and every facet (shooters, passers), and a real good first 7. If Kucok and Bell produce, they are decent through 9 spots. Dalembert or no Dalembert, opening win in Phily is big. Milwalkee is for real. If they stay healthy they will make the playoffs along with probably every other team in their division. Don't be surprised if they are better than the Bulls too, and an outside shot at Cleveland (if their chemistry is not good). They won't be better than Detroit or Indy this year probably under the rosiest of scenarios, but the rest of the division is possible.
People have underestimated T.J's NBA potential for two reasons: 1 He is very small and 2 Doesn't shoot from outside very well. Since it looks like he's added an outside shot, T.J. should be like a Tony Parker that can shoot (and pass better) who is also mentally tough. Maybe he could play in the All-Star game in his hometown. That would be sweeeeet!
Anyone think Ford might be the fastest player in the NBA? I was switching back and forth between the Bucks and Sixers and the Spurs and Nuggs. Parker and Boykins look like they're going in slow motion compared to TJ.
C'mon now! 2-0! Michael Redd earned his max salary with 41 points. Good thing because looking at the box score, the Bucks would have lost by 20 if he wasn't on his game. Magloire & Simmons combined for 8 points & 10 fouls. After stinking it up royally yesterday, Maurice Williams had 23 points. How much you want to bet that's his season high? TJ's line: 21 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds Very solid 13 point road win over an expected playoff team.
to me it's difficult to tell who is actually faster between ai, boykins and tj. but those are the only three guys in the same category as far as speed with the ball in their hands. hats off to TJ though, i know it's only 2 games but he's better than when he left on that stretcher. he has been playing terrific. i'm very impressed with his improved shooting. that's the only part of his game that has been missing. with a good outside jumper, he's put himself up amongst the best PG's in the league. i hope he stays healthy and keeps it up.
i watch him in highschool and went to UT at the same time he played... he is one of my most favorite pgs in the game today to watch. his vision on the court is just amazing... he seems to know where to pass it too all the time. he gets turnovers simply b/c the bigs are surprised by a pass they didnt think could actually been made.. so they fumble it. im a huge rockets fan... but the bucks are my team in the east. yet, if they would play each other... i would root for the rockets. dont worry. hey, would anyone know of a website like this the buck fans would have?
I used to have it bookmarked but all my bookmarks got wiped out about 3 months ago. I ain't like Clutchfans.
I think Bogut will be the X-Factor for the Bucks this year. He didn't shoot well last night, but pulled down 17 boards and had 4 assists with 0 TOs...
