I would also like to say I TOLD YOU MOTHER****ERS out there that C-Webb would put up 32/14 a game. WHERE THE HATERS AT NOW HUH? WHERE THEY AT?
It IS true. Shareef Abdur-Rahim has had a losing record on every horrible team he's ever been on. It's the strangest thing, and I don't know what to read into it -- every terrible, pathetic team Shareef Abdur-Rahim has ever played on has missed the playoffs. Weird.
Here is another thing to consider, those teams didn't do any better either immediately after he left.
Those untalented, mismanaged and poorly-coached teams didn't immediately make a run to the second round after Shareef left? I'm still figuring this one out. I'll get back to y'all.
basketball is one sport where ONE player can make a huge difference. Yes you are right. Vancouver got rid of SAR, and they made the playoffs. Its just amazing how SAR was suppose to be the savior, great citizen etc for portland and then they dump him cause he hates playing second fiddle to randolf.
It's ONE freaking game. People like you were probably starting threads like "I told you so!" about T-Mac when people said he couldn't carry a winning team and the Rockets started off with a losing record his first month here. ONE game
Yet, there have been years when teams lead by Barkley, Hakeem, T-Mac, Vince Carter, Shaq, Garnett, Kobe among others have missed the playoffs. It takes more then one player to win. It takes quality supporting players, quality coaches and a quality, or at least decent and competent, organization to win in the NBA.
In 2004. After trading SAR for Pau Gasol, three years earlier. After adding Shane Battier. After adding Earl Watson. After adding Hubie Brown. After Jason Williams (who SAR never played with) grew up. After signing James Posey. After Mike Dickerson retired. After adding Lorenzen Wright. After adding Mike Miller. After adding Bonzi Wells. Yes, the Memphis Grizzlies (a team Shareef Abdur-Rahim never played for) made the playoffs in 2003-04. You get a cookie.
could it be that Mike Bibby shot 2-11 Bonzi Wells shot 2-11 could that be the reason why the Kings lost....i don't know....why not just blame SAR....sounds good to me.
No, come on, everybody knows Shareef trips his own teammates and shoots the ball into his his own basket.
When did you become Prez of the Abdur-Rahim fan club? Unlike many posting in here, I actually watched the game instead of just reading a stat line. One of the recurring arguments against Abdur-Rahim on the Rockets was empty stats. If you watched the game, the ball went into the post and never came back out. He got his share of shots. (Second in attempts after Peja). SAR put up stats...guarded by a sure-fire All Defense selection in David West. Yes...I'm smart enought to realize it's only 1 game...but it's tough to get a shooting touch when you never touch the ball. I love stats...but to those who didn't watch the game...these lie.
I especially like all those big shots webber hit down the stretch! Webbers good for a fantasy league but he is a choker in crunch time.
The Kings will either be coming here tonite with fire in their eyes or their tails between their legs. The Rox better be prepared for the former.
