Persecuting christians just ain't what it used to be. They used to run away, but now they practically beg for it. As long as it's just name-calling and stuff.
in related news, i've completely stopped using knives while i'm cooking because there are people in the world that are using them in evil ways, and i cant live with that.
Ok, me and Svpernaut have been friends for over 10 years, so I had to share this with you all after I read this gem. What Svpernaut failed to tell all of you, is that just last year we both attended a Halloween party at the house of a mutual friend of ours. Svpernaut dressed as a crack fiend and was taking shots off of the ice block throughout the night. Seriously, I'll break out the pictures if I need to.
What is the significance of "PWNED?" I gather it's a typo of OWNED but I'm curious about its roots. Is it a T_J thing?
The dissection happened because of your misstatements regarding Paganism and the outright falsehood of human sacrifice on Halloween. Those were the two issues that caused me to dissect your statements. Truly, you must be totally out of touch with reality if you actually believe that there are ritual human sacrifices in America. I have never seen such a claim outside the movies, even as much as religious nuts use every tool at their disposal to try to put the kibosh on Halloween. I happen to know, through the sex offender database, that there aren't any in the area where I would bring my kids to trick or treat, and since I will inspect the candy before giving it to my kids, I feel reasonably certain that nothing untowards will happen to them as a result of this harmless activity. Witches, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny are all analagous in that they are fictional characters used to represent different holidays. Obviously, they won't evoke the same response from a 5 year old, but that falls under the heading of "duh" to me. Part of Halloween is the fright factor, something that isn't a part of Xmas or Easter. It doesn't upset me that you choose a different route at Halloween, but it does rankle me when people like you use the overplayed (and underrealized) "tainted candy" card to scare people. It also amazes me that you would actually claim that there are human sacrifices in America as a result of Halloween, but I guess it shouldn't since you seem to have bought the Bush line 100%. Just settle down on your claims that Halloween is somehow evil (and your inferences that Paganism is somehow "evil" as well) and that there are human sacrifices on Halloween in America and I won't have any issues. If you want to rename Halloween the "Fall Festival," that is your choice, but it is still a Halloween party.
Very well said. The God that I know is ever present. He is with me at all times, in all places whether I can see a copy of the Ten Commandments or not, whether a prayer is said aloud or silently or not at all, and whether a Bible is within a 20 mile radius or not. You are the kind of Christian I really like.
I just wanted everyone to know that I sacrificed a delicious pizza and lots of candy to my pagan tummy god for Halloween. Because I'm eeeeeeevil!
