Ok, i dont know if your guys have heard of this program but its kinda like Napster, only better! Not only can you share music (not to mention that its not filtered muscic) but you can also share video, SOFTWARE!!!!, and pictures! This is the best program i have ever used. I have been so addicted to this program! And if for some reason your download gets disconnected or you have to go, when u sign on next it will automatically resume downloading. The only true negatives i know of in this program is that it occasionally freezes but that may just be my piece of crap computer. ALSO i know you might reply and say this is piracy sharing software. Im not arguing with this, and that is why i'm surprised this program is used on such a large scale and it hasnt seen many napster type criticism. I GIVE THIS 2 THUMBS UP!!!! GO DOWNLOAD AT www.musiccity.com !!!! oh yes , i would like to hear your opinions on this program! ------------------ "The early bird may get the worm, but so does the bird that finished off the tequila bottle the night before"
Morpheus is pretty cool, the only problem is that it's REAL buggy. Keep checking back with their website for updates, otherwise, it's great for file sharing. I love P2P!! rH ------------------ visit: groovehouse.org
rockhead, i was wondering if u could help me with something because u like p2p so much... im trying to get the game "Hitman codename 47" but only like 2 people have it on morpheus and verytime i download it itgets halfway thru and my computer freezes or the person leaves or whatever. SO BESIDES GOING OT THE STORE AND ACTUALLY BUYING IT, How can i get this program!?!?!?!? ------------------ "The early bird may get the worm, but so does the bird that finished off the tequila bottle the night before"
I agree, I started using Morpheus last Thursday (thanks to Francis3's tip) and have already forgotten about Napster. I'm amazed at its sudden popularity, as it's selection is pretty damn good. O.K., I'll throw out the first salvo. The argument for stealing songs via Napster is that the recording industry is making too much money and forcing folks to buy an entire CD for an inflated price when all they want is a few songs. What is the argument for stealing software via Morpheus? ------------------
for years publishers have been throwing out those "PIRACY IS BAD" comments when u install a program.... I especially remember Doom's "If you are playing on a pirated copy you are going ot hell" So basically until theres over a million people on morpheus trading pirated software regularly there is no worries for software companies imo ...... ------------------ "The early bird may get the worm, but so does the bird that finished off the tequila bottle the night before"
I have the same view in regards to stowing away on airplanes. Those seats are flying with the plane anyway. I'm not hurting anyone by taking a seat that the airline couldn't sell. And the only reason they can't sell them is because they are overpriced and the airlines are greedy. Unsold seats should be free. ------------------ [This message has been edited by mrpaige (edited June 18, 2001).]
hey drewp... you're best bet, is to actually buy the game... the problem with downloading it, is your probably not getting all necessary files. some files go to the registry that you can't get.... good luck rH ------------------ visit: groovehouse.org
I've tried this out and it's just not as user friendly as Napster. I've been trying to d/l different videos and somehow it always messed up or I don't have the right format or whatever. ------------------ The death penalty SUCKS.
bobrek: Just out of curiosity, what do you think of "sampling?" I actually avoid using Napster/morpheus/cdburner, etc, as a *surrogate* for purchasing... but I do download under two situations: 1. To figure out whether I like the album/game enough to buy. I'm very good about always buying, *if* I enjoy the song/game. 2. As mrpaige has already suggested. Do you find both of these motivations wrong as well? ------------------ Lacking inspiration at the moment...
Always wanted to do this. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum7/HTML/004059.html ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Haven That's a tough call. Prior to computers, we were only able to "sample" songs by hearing it on the radio or listening via a friend's copy. With the advent of programs such as this we can sample virtually any song. I personally do not see anything "morally" wrong with downloading a song and listening to it to sample. However, if you like it, you should go out and buy it, if not, delete it. I was hoping to confine this discussion to software since the music issue has been argued to death. I have a number of programs that I have bought over the internet. These include programs from companies as well as programs from individuals. Most (if not all) have come with a trial version. Those that I have not chosen to purchase, I have deleted before the trial period expired. The problem is the number of folks that "sample" a game and then never buy it. I have read many posts in other forums where folks look to change the date on their computer so they can reinstall a trial version of a game. My favorite argument for pirating software is "I wasn't going to buy it anyway, so the company is not out any money if I pirate it". I am not passing judgement on anyone. Personally, I don't agree with downloading songs/software via sites such as Napster/Morpheus. Morally I have no problem with "sampling" as you define it. Legally, it is currently against the law. I am just curious as to the arguments folks have for getting software via Morpheus. ------------------
timing- i have found thi sout about morpheus....the video player wont always work on bigger files or divx files.. go get a codec and "theplaya" to play anything u need http://www.projectmayo.com/projects/subproject.php?projectID=2&subprojectID=3 it will play divx files and pretty much any other video format u want.... open files from your morpheus shared files dirctory to play ------------------ "The early bird may get the worm, but so does the bird that finished off the tequila bottle the night before"

Thanks DrewP, I'll try it out. I tried the Global Divx player but it kept giving me some darn font size error. Thanks! ------------------ The death penalty SUCKS.
Yeha, I'm having trouble downloading a player also. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
I think its above average for MP3's but excellent for videos. I still prefer Audiogalaxy Satellite for music. ------------------
Alright, I downloaded some songs, but no sound is coming out of the bugger! What am I doing wrong? ------------------ Protrolls.com! RITQAIOCLHTPFOTFWBPTD
