Well duh, that is why I said hypothetically. It was a direct response to the post immediately above mine. I took his AB's and turned them to outs to see what it would show, just like Surf said. No where did I say the info was a valid way MLB should proceed, if it turned out to be Dye. In fact I never even accused him, I just said "If it turns out to be Dye I'll be ticked"

That would be freaky if the Sox get emboiled in another scandal and Roger Clemens mom all but said it on her deathbed. really freaky.

As far as who it is. I am thinking timing here. It's seems really odd that major league baseball would let a positive keep playing in the playoffs. Even if he had a legal right to appeal. It just looks bad to let that happen. Especially if it is a White Sock. I have a hard time believing that baseball would let that happen. They can't possibly be that stupid to set themselves up for a scandal in the world series.

That said, Selig is a dumbass. So it's possible.

But I suspect it had to be someone from a losing team.

I would eliminate Sheff because he tried to disassociate himself from Bonds. I doubt he's usinng. Especially after seeing what giambi went thru.

As for Ramirez, he was acting strange all season. Would not suprise me at all.

Finely seems like someone who stands out too. He doesn't look like someone who should go yard.

I'm putting my money on Vlad. He probably found out right when the series with the White Sox started. No way he bats 1 for 20 while trying.

If it is a White Sox player, and they let him play in the WS while going through appeals, that would SERIOUSLY suck for baseball, and Houston.

As an Astros fan I'd love for that to be the case, but as a baseball fan I'd love for it not to be the case... I'm torn.

Did Clemens mom really say the sox would win the world series over the astros in 3 games? According to this article:
    http://boileryard.blogspot.com/2005/10/shoeless-joe-and-rockets-mom.html

If you are in to this type of thing, and believe that she could have predicted all of this, then what does the shoeless joe thing reference? Just the fact that it was the white sox, or that someone was going to throw the world series? (oswalt and lidge sure didn't look like themselves)....

to go back to pujols, how is that guy not on something? no one has been that big and not been linked to steroids. mcgwire, sosa, bonds, giambi are the only guys bulked up like him and all did them. pujols has to be on something undetectable or something they don't test for b/c you just can't be that big it seems and not have been on something.

and man i hope it's a white sock. dye would be awesome, mvp getting taken down. but it won't be. hell, i doubt anyone even tested positive. wasn't there some big to do about clemens and pujols earlier this year and nothing ever happened from that.

Clemens has never been tied to steroids, not sure what you are talking about.

I'm pretty sure your joking, but if your not, keep this in mind. When the infamous (not the three amigo's definition) black sox threw the world series, salaries were no where near what they are today. These men were throwing away their world series dreams for their financial dreams. Bad idea, but in a way, understandable. Today's player, barring a horrible gambling problem (i.e. pete rose), has essentially no reason to throw a game. They are rich, adored and never need work again. In some ways, the extravagant salaries have helped to keep players from pulling the black sox scandal again.

I'm going to guess Finley, that dude is old as crap and never hit many homers when he was in Houston. He also played in San Diego with Caminiti, and his homers went way up there.

There was some crazy rumour that a couple of big names, perhaps Clemens, had tested positive for steroids. I guess it aint true cuz nothing has happened since.

But steroids can help you get a MUCH higher salary... look at the riches Jason Giambi made for himself from using steroids. You can go from an average player making league minimum or close to it to a great player making millions and millions a year all because you use the stuff.

Are you upset because people are getting busted and if we just let them do it then there wouldn't be a scandal? Or are you mad that nothing was done for so long, and the problem got to be so widespread?

I am guessing Ramirez, Sheff or Damon. I hope it is Damon, because I can't stand the guy. If it was a white sox player it would feel good to say they won because they cheated, but I don't have the hatred for their outfielders.

I don't hope its anyone because I'd rather not have more stupid steroids drama. That being said, if I could guess one person who got hit with steroids I would guess Dye.

The guy is an injury machine and it would make sense that he would use steroids to get back into the league. He had Ken Griffey Junior syndrome until this year and steroids could easily be part of that equation. We've all heard the stories about how roids allow you to heal faster and recover quicker and Dye would certainly fit that description.

Hopefully its someone random that no one cares about because I'd feel better knowing we lost legitimately.

Look I am not in anyway an Albert Pujols fan... in fact Albert Pujols made me break my remote control when he hit his homerun. But to say hes on roids...come on... hes been tested... He is the best hitter in the game no question about it.....Yeah hes big... but hell so was freakin bagwell back in the day....You cant tell by looking at someone....Pujols hit 37 homers as a rookie... hes just a great hitter and I guarantee you.... If he was an Astro you would never say that he was on on Roids...

On a side note.... I hate you Albert Pujols....!!!!

when he's not hitting game winning 3 run homers off of us, i don't really have a problem with pujols. in fact, i'm constantly amazed at what he does. but i was also amazed at what bonds did. and pujols does seem like he's always been this big but then again it's not like you have to wait to get on them.

studogg was talking about throwing games for money, not steroids. steroids are obviously real good to your checking account if they work out.

and what are people mentioning finley, didn't he suck ass all year? in fact, i know he did b/c he drug my fantasy team down like an anchor for about half the season and i don't remember him turning it on afterwards. of course, lots of people you wouldn't suspect might be on them but finley would seem weird considering how horrible he was.
