Lord knows my two daughters have made such an impact in my life and I wouldn't trade fatherhood for anything...Alyson, 2 1/2 and Chelsie 8 months ... BUT THATS IT NO MORE!!! No son? who cares I have two little, precious angels that mean the world who are healthy, happy, and of course beautiful. A lot of people can't even have kids like my sister-in-law, so I really feel blessed! I imagine what if I had no kids...I probably would be living in the woods, living off the land and eating squirrel and other wild game....but I met my wife Roxana and I guess she domesticated me...sort of. I met her watching the Rockets, but that's beside the point. The point is my life could never be better because of the two children in my life! Any other fathers out there, Happy father's day! ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Guns kill squirrels than REDRUM to fools across the nation?
Just don't force squirrels onto them. Let them discover squirrels for themselves. ------------------ Protrolls.com! RITQAIOCLHTPFOTFWBPTD

ROXRAN.. I know how you feel. I have 2 sons almost the exact age as your kids (25 months and 7 months). I wouldn't trade being a dad for anything. It is the best thing that ever happened to me. (next to my wife ) Happy father's day to all! ------------------ [This message has been edited by Brad (edited June 17, 2001).]
My oldest is a boy (now 17 and 1/2). Two years later, my daughter was born-- the first female born into my family in 77 years. DIVORCE. 19 months ago my second daughter is born. 4 months into the future, my third daughter will be born. Can't wait. I love being a Dad. My hat's off and a snappy salute to all you great Dads on this board. ------------------ Time is a great teacher-- only problem is it kills all its pupils.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ALL! My wife and kids are the greatest influence and most important people in my life and I love them dearly. My two sons, 12 and 9, and my sweet daughter, 7, are the reason I live and breathe. They gave me a great new tote bag to carry all my stuff to work. The old one was on it's last leg, and they recognized that and got me a new one. Thanks kids! ------------------ I always thought "With my talent, it's only a matter of time before I'm discovered". Now I think "With my talent, it's only a matter of time before I'm found out".
I got a great Father's Day present: George Carlin's new book "Napalm & Silly Putty." I've started in on it already. One section entitled IDIOTS AND MANIACS reminds me of some of the "exchanges" on this board.... "Have you ever noticed that when you're drivin', anyone goin' slower than you is an idiot? And anyone goin' faster than you is a maniac? Why, I tell ya, folks, it's a wonder we ever get anywhere at all with all these days, what with all the idiots and maniacs out there. Because no one ever drives at my speed. Actually I don't let people drive at my speed. If I see some guy in the next lane keepin' pace with me, I slow down. I let the a**hole get a little bit ahead so I can keep an eye on him. I like to know who I'm drivin' near." HAPPY (FUTURE) FATHER'S DAY !!! ------------------ "How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak. Because someday you will have been all of these."
A-Train: Off the top of my head, I would say that most parents count the months up until about age 2 and after that it turns to years where it stays. I think we do that because of the mind-set that we get handed about developmental progress. This is pretty heavy up until 15 months or so when you are seeing your pediatrician pretty regularly. After 15 months, the visit are spaced at 6 months or more I think. This would be my best guess. ------------------ "How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak. Happy father's day to all involved... curses to Amazon.com, though, since both the father's day presents I sent to my dad and granddad (who was more of a father to me) aren't there yet, even though I selected expedited father's day shipping! Hope you guys with kids all have better luck! ------------------ Lacking inspiration at the moment...
OK, I might become a father one day, so I guess now is as good a time as any to ask for parenting advice... When do you stop counting "months" for your child's age and start counting years? I actually heard a woman say one time that her child was 37 months old... ------------------ If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!!
It is a great Father's day. My boys are 18 and 19, so we stayed up real late playing cards and listening to music last night. We all like the same stuff, from Sgt. Peppers to Steve Miller to Kid Rock to Marshall Mathers. We went to breakfast this morning and now they are both getting much needed rack time. God how I love being a DAD. Greatest job in the world. ------------------
