I enjoyed both of those movies... Sliding Doors is a great one to watch with your girlfriend, and was extremely well done. I didn't like Paltrow very much until I saw that movie...

I read somewhere that they are doing an Internet version of "The Game" . Several people have already signed up. It is all web-based and sites are being created for the sole purpose of "The Game" to provide clues and so forth. I'm sure you could find some info by searching the web.

My take on it is I don't want to play no freaking Internet version of "The Game" because that would mean you are now online all of the freaking time and I hate the damn web for more than 10 minutes of checking news and this forum. Maybe I shouldn't be a web developer...eh [IMG] ?

They are pumping a lot of money into this and I believe a site or two already exists as part of "The Game". The whole idea came from a movie and a lot of nerds apparently feel it is a great idea to waste their lives away online trying to figure out the puzzle.

You can count me out. I hope they all go blind from staring at their monitors...the jerk-offs.

The Game was the first movie I saw in one of those stadium seating-type movie theaters (I saw it at the AMC Grand in Dallas right after I moved from Amarillo).

I liked it well enough, though I thought the ending was a little too... You know. I've never seen Sliding Doors.

Both movies are excellent in my opinion.

Sliding Doors is a great opportunity to score points with your significant other. Agree to watch it with her, and you'll be happy later that night, for two reasons!

The Game was very good as well, directed by one of my top 5 favorite directors, David Fincher.

Roxran said you didn't like it ??? [IMG]
Paige, I somewhat agree about the ending, you know.

What else has Fincher directed ?

Surfguy, this site, do you think it's a scam or a security hazard ?

Both are ok. In "the game", you kinda knew too much information to make it interesting.

Fight Club is one of my faves, I'm gonna buy it eventually. I haven't seen 7 and I didn't really care for the Alien movies. How was 7 ?

Seven was fantastic... did you ever seen Kiss the Girls or the Bone Collector? Those movies wanted badly to be Seven.

No...it's nothing like that. I believe it's a multi-million dollar venture into bringing "The Game" concept to the web. Several major players are involved. I wish I knew where I saw that at. It's all in good fun in the end. Everyone who signs up is a participant...it includes e-mail clues, websites devoted to "The Game", maybe even chats....I dunno...I honestly wasn't that interested to learn more. I remember, though, that they were pumping a lot of money into this new idea for the web and they got the idea from the movie.

Ouch, Alien 3. Not a title I would want to my credit as a director.

Seven was a great movie. Kiss the Girls and Bone Collector were weak imitations. The ending in Kiss the Girls was bad.

I think I found what I was talking about....a game called Majestic. The news story started off talking about "The Game" the movie and then went off into talking about an internet mystery game. Here are a couple of excerpts which stand out in my mind from a Gamespot preview:

"Majestic makes use of not only your computer and the Internet to progress its story along but also devices and utilities like your fax machine, phone, e-mail account, and even AOL's Instant Messenger (AIM) chat service. The game's characters will use all these devices to interact directly with you, which means that you can expect to get e-mails, Instant Messages, faxes, and even phone calls from the characters in Majestic as the game progresses."

"Majestic progresses in absolute real time, meaning that if you're having a conversation with a character over AIM, and that characters tells you he'll get back to you tomorrow, he'll literally get back to you tomorrow. The game's technology is truly amazing. Young said that Anim-X has licensed the latest in natural-conversation-recognition technology to make real-time chats over AIM seem truly realistic. According to Young, you'll be able to sit down and have a conversation with a fictitious character and not be able to tell that you're chatting with a computer."

It also sounded like they were going to rely on lots of video and audio from the likes of Real Networks and other partners. The site is pretty cool and gives your subwoofer a great workout. Check it out!

Seems kind of cool...a new way to game. I may try it.

My wife and I both hated Sliding Doors. It didn't score points with either of us. [IMG]
