That may be true, but the alternating years rule is even more stupid than the all-star game rule. If you're going to do anything, it should be better record, in which case the White Sox would have home field.
That's funny...Cardinals players were mad that the roof was closed during the LCS...and the commissioner thinks that a stadium should not be used as a competitive advantage. It's not called "home-field advantage" for nothing. If home parks weren't supposed to give the home team a slight advantage, then all parks would be designed the same.
Maybe MLB ought to fill out the Astros lineup card and manage during the game, Perhaps they can make offseason transactions for us. God forbid the Astros have a say in anything they do.
What's the difference between keeping the roof closed or cutting the grass long? Home teams always do things to try and get an edge. As long as its the same for both teams (ie. the roof closed when both teams bat) then it should be fair game. I'm not that concerned though. I'd be pissed right now if I was a Cards fan though.
Bud Selig: Uh, drayton . . . bring a bulldozer out to the field. I wan't the hill gone and the flag pole moved before the game. Oh, and lets move the left field wall back a hundred feet. Wait, while we are at it, MMP isn't going to be your home field, lets pack it up and go to the AstroDome! Sound good? Good!
I bet that if the World Series was being played at Miller Park ( not very likely, but for arguments sake ) the roof would be closed.
Selig just wants to make things easier for the White Sox. You know he's wearing his White Sox tidy whitey's while he's watching the game. Anything to help out who he is rooting for. Aside of the seriousness.....I think it's pathetic that he would step up and try to make the roof be open. I think thats the Houston Astros decision.
I hear george bush sr. may get involved because he doesn't think it will be prudent to close the roof and it's bad for the economy and not right for the young people, basically what he said when asked about the roof being closed was 'nope...not gonna do it'
Got-dang, man, between ol' Girl Scout cookies and the band candy, it never ol' stop, man. He does look like ol' Bobby Hill, man.
It should be open. If it takes a closed roof to be loud then Astros fans should just stay home. Stop being p*****s and building excuses already. The Sox fans were loud in horrible weather, the Astros fans should do the same. It's even more ridiculous that the Texans are afraid to open their roof now.
Lets go with the flow. Lets get pumped and be louder than Chicago! Lets go HOUSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
