About a month ago, I got into a car accident which is totally not my fault, and my car is totally broken down, and can't be use again. However, when the car accident happened, my car's insurance has already expired, and I also forgot to copy the person who hit my car's insurance, license plate, or any information, and now, all I got is the case number about the accident from the cop, and the DMV still has not yet receive the report about the
    accident.
The question that I have is that, what do I need to do in order for me to get the money from the other person's insurance company for the damaged that has being done to my car?

Any legal advice, great information, suggestion, would be appreciate.

    Thank you

What department is it? HPD, Harris County. If it wasn't your fault it doesn't matter that you don't have onsurance because the other persons' insurance company will pay for it. I would call the accident division of the police department who made the report and give them your case #. They will give you the other driver's info and then ask them to send a copy of the accident report to the other persons' insurance company. Their insurance company should contact you, if not, call them.

When did your insurance expire. What is that you had insurance and just not an updated insurance card?
