Why is it that, when your listening to the radio, there are often times when one radio station plays a song and, either at the same time or just after, another station plays the same damn song? I'm at work listening to the radio and a really obscure song by AC/DC that isn't one you normally hear is being played at the same time on two different rock stations. I know we have all heard this before at some point. So, are they trying to compete with each other by copying each other's song selection? Or, is some requesting the same song on multiple stations? Or, is this just coincidence and, if so, why does it happen so frequently? Hmm.... Please add to if you have any "why is it that...?" questions.
"Why is it that everytime I turn on the radio, I hear the same 5 songs 15 times a day for 3 months? Man, FUNK DAT!!!"
It probably has to do with the fact that none of the stations are really sticking with their format anymore. You've got 106.9 playing Alanis Morisette and Matchbox 20 while 93.7 is playing Bon Jovi and Guns & Roses. Hell 107.5 is starting to play Elton John and the Bee Gees. Personally, I like it when multiple stations play the same commercial at the same time.
Surfguy, to answer your question, Clear Channel is getting less and less creative these days. (yes, apparently it's still possible) Why is it that I just want to curl up and sleep right now? I've been doing it every night. Just because I don't start on it as early as a lot of people do... which is because I'm never tired yet around midnight... why don't I have all that energy now?
Why is it that Leno and Letterman have the same genre/type of musical guest competing against each other every night?
