Saw a lot of people on the news saying that the Astros making it to the World Series was better than the '94 Rocket's Championship.

    I, wholeheartedly, disagree.

This poll is about a World Series win over an NBA Finals win. Which would be sweeter?

Mine is for the Astros. They've been here longer, and won nothing. Plus, we've had longtime Astros like Hakeem on here.

Which would y'all pick? A WS win for the Astros or an NBA Championship for the Rox.

    You have two seconds.

    Don't make me pick.

But I'm a baseball guy first, and the Astros winning it is far more meaningful to me. That said, I want to see T-Mac and his crew crush the East in the Fianls this year nonetheless.

    Astros.

Rockets will have their chances for many years to come.. for the Astros, this might be their one and only shot.

    No doubt Astros by far.

We have Yao/T-mac here for atleast 7 more seasons. They will get theirs eventually.

This could be the last year Biggio and Bagwell have a chance. I want to see my childhood heroes get their rings.

It's like choosing which one of your children you like best. I won't vote.

That's a funky choice. I'd like both of them to win it all, this year. Back in the mid 90s when the Rockets won back to back NBA titles I was saying that if the Astros ever made it to the world series, much less won it all, it would be the biggest thing to ever happen to Houston, sports wise. So far, the astros in the world series is right there.

Actually, a better question would be:

    Which is more impressive?

Winning the World Series after being 15-30 and beating the teams with the two best records in baseball without home field advantage?

Beating the four teams with 60, 59, 62, and 57 wins (the four best records in the NBA) while not having home court advantage in any series to win the NBA title?

I voted Astros. The Rockets are my favorite sports team, but they've already won 2 titles and it's only a matter of time until they start raising more banners with the collection of young talent on their roster.

Astros. They are Houston's first bigtime pro sports team (when the Oilers came into existence in 1960, they played for the old AFL).

The Astros are the first pro sports team for Houston, and the one with the longest streak of heartbreak.

I voted Astros, because they don't have any and the Rox are young and have many championships on the horizon. AND this year- which is why the vote was easy. We are going to have two champion teams in Houston!

Some of you have learned nothing from Houston's sports history...

or even from history in general.

Uh, the Rockets will get theirs eventually? Nothing is guaranteed.

You get them when you can. For the Astros that's now. Hopefully in June 2006 that will be the Rockets' time.

As a basketball fan - I'd always take an NBA Finals win. But as a Houstonian, I don't care. Either is good. Both are better. ;)

I was thinking about posting a poll like this just a few days ago (but I didn't want to jinx it). I am a Rockets fan, but I would take the AStros win this year over the Rockets win, b/c I think the Rockets will have many more chances, whereas the Astros might never be here again

Rockets. They ended all the suffering. The Astros are more of a feel good story.

Astros. I'll let them have it once. Then it's all Rockets again. :D
