BK Kim was who I was thinking of as well. But he didn't have Lidge's stuff, and it happened to him twice in a row. Hopefully the series outcome will be similar.

Mostly yes, as well as how you approach the whole bullpen.

But if Oswalt is dominating and a low pitch count, you could stick with him. He had 4 of the Astros 6 complete games and is off full rest. You wouldn't take out Clemens or Schilling or Johnson on one of their best playoff games until they show some cracks EVEN if you had Rivera there. Oswalt is capable of such a dominating effort.

Most likely Oswalt will be excellent, but not unreal. Except to see the full range of the Astros bullpen and Lidge in the 9th, but NOT in the 8th. Same is true for Clemens and game 7 if necc. Most people don't remember but on Rivera's blown game 7 he came into the game in the 8th and had pitched a lot (games 3,4,5 + the 2 innings in game 7 I believe). Can't fault Torre, but Rivera was less effective by that 2nd inning of game 7. The Astros bullpen has been too strong to consider Lidge for 2 innings IMO, particularly considering what happened last game and the amount of work he has been getting.

Of course you give him a chance, however, if Roy is crusing, let him finish...

I really don't think Lidge will make the same mistake twice. We need for him to redeem his confidence, if we are going to have a shot in the World Series.

I see it now.... Roy goes 7 2/3 strong innings allowing 2 runs. Roy gets in a little trouble so Lidge comes in to finish the 8th. The crowd is really on Lidge giving him a sarcastic round of applause as he takes the mound. The pressure’s on, the TV guys keep showing the Pujols HR followed by other famous blown saves in playoff history.....

Are you guys ready for that. Bring on Game 6!!!!

    I'm READY!

What matters, honestly, to me, is if we can score early (for once) and "steal" it from them. By that I mean, keep the crowd out of it, crush the momentum that they earned, and in turn give Roy a little breathing room.

Beyond that, I'd like to dish a collective swift kick in the balls for the fine St. Louis men and women at the game. I owe them that for stealing game 5 from us. We were partying at the juice factory and then it just ended.

I'm not getting ANY from the mrs. until they go to the WS and I'm worried now that if we don't go this year, there could be dry-rot issue where their ought not be.

    The time is now!

Although the Cards have been eating up Lidge, (made 2 of his saves scary, and I dont have to mentione the other one), we are going to need him to have his confidence at 100% going into the WS. I say let him pitch. I just hoep we have a cushy lead.
