My apologies for starting another Mickey D's thread, but a deal like this only comes by every so often.

I've already taken advantage of this deal a few times. This is a helluva deal. Quarter Pounders are probably the best thing at Mickey D's. Add a small fries and you have a $3 lunch. Just a little "food for thought" for those of you sitting around at work until lunch...(ahem, Achebe)....

Isn't there something fundmentally wrong with a half pound of meat that only costs $2? [IMG]

Who in the hell eats at mcdonalds?? Only time I eat there is when im checkmated between either eating there or burger king.

Only thing good a McD's is their apple pies and their fries ... which i crave neither.

Now I don't know what the big deal about 2 QP's for $2, when you can easily go to Wendys and get their Texas/Double Stack burger for $.99 or go to Jack in the Crack and get their Jumbo Jack for $.99, which both taste and prepared better.

I used to work at Wendys and the few people I know that worked there are confident on their quality and preperation of their food and continue to eat there after they quit(myself included)

Just about everyone I know that worked for McD's and Taco Bell tell me not to eat there and I wouldn't want to know how things are cooked.

I also knew this woman that told me potatoes gave her headaches. When she would eat just about any fries from any restrant, they would give her headaches. But she told me that she could eat McD's fries w/out any problem. That could explain why their fries taste so different!

It's really sad...I can't stand McDonald's food, and every time I eat it it DOES make me sick.

But I can't turn down 99 cent burgers...so I'll be getting sick this afternoon. [IMG]

I believe the correct punctuation should be:

    half pound of "meat."

I am sure, if it was analyzed, it would be more lips, toes, and ass meat...and I do not think you can advertise that as real meat.

I heard they add dried-up worm powder to their beef to increase the protein count.

fast food is disgusting PERIOD. how people can eat that horse s--- when there are so many good places to eat in Houston, is beyond me. I gave up eating fast food a year ago (used to eat it 5-10 times a week), can't tell you how much better I feel now, and I lost over 20 pounds.

You would be amazed what cutting that crap out of your diet will do for you. You will NOT miss it, I promise you that.

I agree with you completely. But the difference is price and convience. Why would I want to spend 10-15 bucks on a plate at a resterant when I can pick up a meal for $2.16?

The next closest healthy food would be a (wanna-be) Subway, and you are looking to spend at least $3 for their smallest sub.

Learn to cook ... its healthier and cheaper!

I think I will take health and taste over convenience and price. That is just me though, enjoy your poison.

I'm not too big on fast food but there are times where I just don't have time or don't want to cook. Heck last week I stopped at Wendy's twice in one day to get something on the way to golfing then stopping by for afterwards for dinner too!
That and who doesn't love swinging by White Castle (do they have them in Houston?) at 3am in the morning after a few beers? I know disgusting food but sometimes you just can't beat fastfood!
I'm not a good cook either but I love my Foreman grill or better yet using the real grill outside!

That is what I am talking bout Chuck, the GFG is one of the great inventions of the last 50 years [IMG]

I know what you are saying about FF, sometimes it is tough to avoid. It is too bad there aren't more healthy alternatives to fast food. I do grab a salad at Mickey D's from now and then or a subway sandwich. Just try to stay away from eating greasy burgers and fries all the time. Really the only FF burgers I miss are Sonic and Whataburger.

The only fast food i can stand is Popeye's. thats about it. when i lived alone all i used to eat was canned food and popeye's, but now that my girlfreind lives with me she'll usually cook something for dinner, and she isnt a bad cook either.

Yeah...I don't see why this is such a great deal. What about Whataburger Wednesdays where you get 2 whataburgers for the price of 1???

Talking about fat grams...that blows the McDonald's Quarter Pounders out of Dom Deluise's ass. Hell, Whataburger oils their buns for crying out loud!

If I had to guess, I would say that constitutes about 120 grams of fat or more. If you want to get really fat, then stick with Whataburger. I'll take the taste of Whataburger over McDonald's any day [IMG]. Although, I think their kitchen area is grosser if I had to compare. Oooooooh yuck.

Ty_Webb...don't you think 5-10 times a week is a little much back in your fast food days. No wonder you had to change your diet. You would have been dead already. Once or twice a week is my range. But I'm single and I don't have a wife to prepare my meals like some of you slouchers who kick back and watch Rockets games while you yell, "Honey...where's my dinner? Grab me another beer! Hurry up!" . And, I only eat fast food maybe twice(maximum 3 times) a week. That's pretty good in my opinion. I don't usually go 2 burgers, either. Just the one or a chicken sandwich(or Taco Hell) [IMG].

Man, and you guys know that the gourmet burgers have more fat then most of the fast food places.

I like the GFG, but it is not as easy to clean as I thought it was.

Spray that non stick stuff on your GFG before you use it, it helps a LOT.

Surfguy, Yep I used to eat fast food about once a day for either lunch or dinner....makes me sick to think about it now.
