You can suspend gravity but you cannot destroy the principle in the atmosphere. Folks like you need to brace up because it is Head jokes (intentional or not) are here to stay until Luther changes his last name. The truth is Luther's last name and Basketball jingos and terms are a volatile mix. There is no game where a Luther move will not be filled with unintended jokes. Even Matt Bullard and Bill Worell know it is going to be a "long" season (no pun intended). Take for example when Bill described one penetration Luther made late in the Philly game, Matt refuse to "touch" that commentary. The sad part is that Bill did not mean to put Matt in an uncomfortable situation. Even this head joke is for the most part restricted to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA. If this were to be Europe (save for Great Britain), Africa or Asia no one will even bat an eye lid because the insinuation that the word usually will draw here will not translate over in those places.
There's a manager where I work whose last name is "Dick". I'm sure if you asked him, he'd agree that "Head" would be an improvement.
Once a Head, always ahead. (we hope) or Once ahead, always a Head. (Nice reward) Both will work. Different context though...
"Sura faints" is funny precisely because it is so un-funny and gets repeated. Head jokes are the opposite. They are supposed to be funny but after awhile when the same thing comes up again and again, it becomes un-funny. Okay, that didn't make sense, did it?
Nope. Call me immature or low brow or whatever you like, but they still crack me up. At the Magic game the other night I yelled "I LOVE HEAD!" as soon as he entered the game. It cracks me up. Also, I can't wait to buy a Head jersey for my girl.
The Head jokes were never amusing in the first place. I can see it if you were still in high school, kinda like when the Health teacher said "penis". This thread is an example ... half of the comments are a failed attempt to display ones wittiness with further "head" jokes, as if they are trying to be convincing that the jokes are really funny.
We have our own Jeff Hornacek running gag here. Anyone else remember the Jazz play by play guy always saying stuff like "Horny shoots and scores! Horny yo-yos the ball looking for an entry, and penetrates it into Malone. Malone's wide open and scores. Great job Horny."
Yes. I am just as sick of these jokes as you & I am glad that the situation has finally c*m to a Head.
c'mon don't get aHead of yourselves, luther played only 2 games and everybody thinks hes our savior. i do like his heads up play on the court though.
some of you guys are even using the same exact jokes in this thread. ugh. i think i'm curious to see what the results would be if we had a poll on the matter but then that thread would be littered with the head jokes too.
Houston Chronicle Headline: Houston Rockets give the Dallas Mavs "Head" in 4 game Sweep as Luther knocks down big 3 to win game!
I'm glad I have a sense of humour! Everyone complaining is funny to me as well... it makes them look grumpy which adds to the humour when someone makes yet another head joke, because then i think about those people getting annoyed at it. So it's an endless cycle, this thread is hilarious.
Well I don't find them funny unless they seem accidental. Since he was drafted I've typed some sentences and reread them and just thought "ugh". It's hard to avoid them. And I'm not yet comfortable calling him Luther, because first names are usually reserved for guys I've felt I've bled with.
