:( Faith in the Irish/Mexican alliance, I had. :( Sorry, man. Wrong.

I noticed that if there are 2 strikes and the call is a strike WITH a swing, the batter tries to advance, as it was with this controversial call, but:
If there are 2 strikes and the call is a strike with no swing and the catcher drops the ball, can the batter try to run to first?

It just goes to show you. You don't need to have kids to know this. ;) Nice one. [DING!]

FOX had the dude in the Studio say: "If you're going to have a call for an out, make a call for an out, and a different one for a strike." I think that's where the confusion was with the people who thought he called OUT and he may have not. Just plain confusion.

That's what you get when you have a stupid, nonsense name such as the Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles.

Me too MadMax. Unfortunately they're on the wrong side of more bad/missed calls.

The Angels simply can't hit. If they lose this series (and it appears they will), they have nobody to blame but themselves. Sure the umpires blow a few calls, but that's not the reason why the Angels batters managed 15 hits in the last three games. I wonder how the Yankees lost to this team.

This series is disappointing. Great teams are able to overcome adversity. Looks like this Angels' team is not a team of destiny. However, we could have easily said the same thing last year at this time with the team that was down 0-3 in the ALCS. :)

i'm sure the angels just loved that the umps actually got together and made the right call now after completely ****ing them the other night. this one was more obvious but the fact the 3rd base ump and home plate didn't get together the other night and make the right call that the ball was caught sucked.

    Damn you angels.

I wanted the Angels to win 3 in a row then lose....so that the Sox wouldn't have this much time to rest before facing the Astros.

    Ugh.

Oh well, see what you lost to Yankees? A team that got swept!

True, true, and more true. However, their loss seemed inevitable. With their horrible batting and shaky pitching, at best, the angels can only hope to extend the series to 6 or 7 games.

I guess the only bad part is that the Angels didn't extend the series and tire out the White Sox.
