Yao is going to continue to get called for STUPID fouls because he continues to do STUPID things on the defensive end. It drives me absolutely nuts!!! I mean cmon isn't someone telling him these things over and over and over and... you get my point.

    He has to get set.

    STOP MOVING!!!

If you realize that you don't have enough time to get in front of the player and GET SET to draw a charge... then let him swing by and SWAT him ON THE WEAK SIDE!!!

If you are almost 8 ft tall then use your length to your advantage. Not to your disadvantage!!!

Other than that... Yao looks great!!!

It looks like the refs calling the centers tightly last night. Yao got 4 fouls in 22 minutes and Deke got 5 in 20 minutes. In terms of getting advices on how to defend, I guess Deke got that more than Yao, still he fouled more last night. As a multiple DOY, Deke should not fouled more than Yao, should he?

The vast majority of Yao's fouls are caused because someone has blown by their man and they jump into Yao while he's in the circle. Better man on perimeter defense would add 5-7 minutes per game to his average minutes played. He's not and will never be a quick shotblocker ala Hakeem, he needs to find his nitch as a Mark Eaton clone on the defensive side of the ball.

True. But the guy honestly talked about it atleast 8-10 times. Even his partner asked him if he had something against Deke.

Luther Head may become the Rockets own version of Jason Terry this year which is good. Hopefully he'll become a pass first point guard in the near future.

Has anyone noticed that Yao's free throw shooting is back. He used to hit 9 out of 10 regularly in his first couple of years. He seemed to slip a bit last year. I guess all those free throw practices we heard about last week do pay off.

my thoughts exactly...and the fact we haven't heard a word about the whole situation from jvg ao any other player and since when does a bruise keep you out of crucial preseason games for a new player, ....hummmmmmm stro...

anyway on a lighter note.....I like Rafer....not for the beginning of the game with the starters.....but just to prove how much a true point guard really matters take my example 1

4th quarter...the scrubs are stinkin up the joint and the lowly magic are creepin back into the game...so what soes jvg do.....just add pure point number 1(SKIP) and suddenly he pulls even the scrubs together and settles the offense down.....and oh yeah...he makes head look like the man again for the second night in a row by settin him up time after time and again with perfect passes and hes strokin them from three point land.....PRICELESS SKIP IS THE MAN :)

He needs to expend all energy in 12-15 minutes a game that he's going to see. I don't care how many fouls he gets, because its worth it. With him in the middle blocking shots, throwing elbows, fouls will be called.

Exactly yao....I would like him to worry less about the block(we have all seen that he is not a natural shot blocker) and more about standind straight up to bother the shot.....hell he has to be dam near 11 ft tall with your arms straigght up...just stand there and make them take a dificult shot over a statute....it can sometimes be just as effective as an actual shot....they just don't keeep stats on this

and for gods sake yao....please stop tappin the dam ball on rebounds...that drives me bananas!!!!! Grab the ball and secure it...this league is way to athletic for you to do the volley ball type rebounding....it works in china but not here with the best athletes on the planet.....

After the file is done downloading, click on it and press the "open" option or you might just be able to double click it. There should be the video inside the folder.
