I just tried it the first time. It works very well. Just pick a program more people are watching (indicated by the number of * following the program in the list), and make sure you have a fast connection (10/1 here), and you will be fine. I am sure when season starts, a lot of fans will be watching Rockets games. There won't be any problem at all. I am still gonna to get league pass though, watching it on the big screen for a price is justified for this team. I am paying $45 a month for 100 channels that I do watch at all, just to be able to subscibe the leage pass. That is about $500 for the 7 months of a season! I wish I were in Houston.
HUH!? So, is there any online VIDEO I can get LIVE of Rockets games this season in ENGLISH. I don't care if it's free or not. Anyone know of any service?
I clicked start player, it tells me its buffering, but the buffer % still says 0, although the connection count is 10. Is this normal? Is WMP gonna pop up after 100% buffer?
Does anyone know for certain that the Rockets will be on CCTV5 tonight. I downloaded PPLIVE and I'm now viewing CCTV5, but I'm not seeing the Rockets.
I'm not seeing it on cctv-5. The other one has a frozen screen of a golfer. Curse you Austin and its "local" team the Spurts.
I'm using http://www.wi-fitv.com/sectional.php?channel=21 so I don't have to download anything like PPlive. But it's not the Rockets on CCTV-5. Damnit, is this just on local tv in houston...other than NBA tv? I'm on College Station...
There is a program like Orb called Talex that is a plug in for Win Amp. If someone could download that in Houston, they could stream the games to people. Just a suggestion......the website is www.talex.tv I dont know much about it. I am about to look into it.
I downloaded PPLive and I opened it but whenever I select a channel a message keeps popping up saying that the channel has left and that I need to select another one. In short I can't actually connect to a channel. If someone has a solution that would be awesome.
hi i tested on bandwidth.com and the result was 86 kbps but when i tested on our internet service provider (DSL) my speed was 312 kbps so i dont why i still have a choppy connection with pplive or windows media player.what seems to be the problem?does anyone encounter this kind of problem with pplive?
when i watched it last time it was pretty smooth so i don't know but i have broadband not dsl..i was wondering if it will show any pre season games too..
This is turning into a Tech-Support thread fast. From what I know: -Only Regular season/playoff games are on CCTV-5. -Not all regular season games are on there. -The games are broadcast using USA channel video with chinese audio. -The (800K) stream requires a fast connection, if you are under 300kbits you are out of luck; but you can try the slower cctv-5 channel. -If it is choppy, then wait (sometimes up to 30 mins), then it slowly gets better. -You can't download things while you are using pplive, it needs all the broadband. -If it still doesn't work...then you I'm sorry you may be out of luck, NBA.com has audio feed for some $$. -Hope this helps.
i just used streamtvnow.com Their service was pretty cool but some of the channels dont stream particularly well so its sort of a crapshoot for my computer as to which channel i can actually watch. If you dont have 290kbps and up you pretty much have no chance at watching tv online. (although some places will go as low as 250kbps)
Not true. Although the bit rate indicates it's 800k bits/ second, the actuall throughput for smooth playback probably only requires around 100K or less. I dont know how exactly MS media player works, but I guess it has to do with bufferring. The delay is usually around 2 - 5 minutes, which is acceptable. I have been watching 800K PPLIVE for a while to get my soccer kicks. So far it has been fantastic. My internet connection is around 300k.
i downloaded pplive version 9 bec in version 7 there's no cctv anymore.the version 9 keeps on downloading but no picture whatsoever.how about wi-fitv1?is it good enough?
