4 year varsity track and cross country. 3 years basketball (1 of varsity) College field hockey for one season (walk on)
Wow, mirror image. I swam my freshman and sophmore years of high school, also, but I loved it. The only reason I didn't swim all four years was because we only needed two years of PE/athletics and I wanted to focus more on academics. It was a lot of work, though. We put those pansy-ass football players to shame with all the work we put in...about 3500 yards of swimming each practice plus running and weight lifting
I feel the same way - should've played more football. I wish people would've told me there is more of a market for a 5'10 football player than a 5'10 basketball player!
Swim team all four years of H.S. (4 year letterman) Didn't do it in college - not fast enough, and wouldn't have wanted to put that kind of time into it anyway.
Sorry, you cut in front of me I meant the guy who played tennis pros. I myself played in the youth team for ADO Den Haag (though I think back then it might have been a satellite team?) in football (soccer) before I moved to Houston, and made it to trials for the Dutch team under 14s or something.
Soccer for 4 years in high school and club level at Sam Houston St. Had tryouts with old indoor Houston Hotshots and Dallas Burn when MLS started. I still play in various men's leagues in Austin.
Cal Martial Arts Judo as a junior and senior. Have been coaching the University of MN Judo club for the past 7 years. Since you asked about pro-sports I competed in a few mixed martial arts fights with cash prizes, not big time UFC type things but small bar and club fights. Got knocked out a few times and figured I'm not crazy enough to get good at this. Other than those played IM basketball, softball and football in Undergrad and grad.
I played football 2 and a half years in high school...long story. I was a tight end and a defensive end.
