Okay guys, need some help here....

I bought the new razr phone from a poster on here. The phone came in a T-mobile box (which means, somehow it is programmed for T-mobile) and my service is cingular. When I put my cingular chip in, it says it needs a subsidy code. This is an Eight digit number. Does anybody have any idea where to obtain this code? Perhaps someone who works at T-mobile could help me. Thanks.

If you want I can provide the email address to this guy in Utah who unlocks these phones for free. Just send him like a $5-$10 donation, and he'll unlock every setting on the phone.

You basically send him the phone, he unlocks it, and he sends it back.
I got a Cingular based Razr phone, and I am now able to use it with my T-mobile account.

Its all free, but he would appreciate some sort of donation.

I can vouch for his work.

Just tell me if you want to go this route, or you can try unlocking it yourself.

call up cingular and ask them to do a fone swap for you, if they argue, just tell em to transfer you to motorolla nd explain to them what went on, and just ask for the numbers, and theyll do it for you... they are really helpfull the motorolla ppl

I got the run around. Is there anybody that can hook the phone up to something and just unlock it. I'm willing to pay some, not too much. Does anybody know anyone?

There used to be a place called Fusion on Harwin and they did it from 101-5 bucks. Don't know if they're still around.
