question.....are the seats that go on sale to public tomorrow a different set of seats from the presale?
had a question... in the event we don't make the lcs, do we get refunded for the processing/convenience charges and crap like that? I hate paying for all these extra fees EDIT: nevermind, they're non-refundable *&$(*!&$!*$)!(&$!)$&
i called the people and asked about the seats that go on sale tommorrow...his response to me "if i were you, and i saw some that were on sale today, then i would buy them, i do not know if or how many we will have tommorrow" ...i know that really doesnt answer your question, but thats all he told me
They are?! CRAP! I bought $45 NLDS tickets and the totals for each was $57.90. So I don't think I'm going to be buying NLCS...
i shoulda looked at this thread yesterday. got on today for the actual sale and got Sundays game, but could not get Saturdays game.
For those of you who haven't heard, you might want to try www.ticketreserve.com - they let you bid on sports tickets for events that may or may not happen. You basically bid on rights to buy tickets at face value - so you're paying the bid + face value (you lose your bid if they don't make it, though). I have WS tickets that way, but there are some NLCS available that way as well. It would be more than face value, but less than EBay or other such places, most likely. FWIW, the site is legit and works directly with the major events, from what I can tell. Or at least, it does with the Rose Bowl, as the Rose Bowl site links to them.
If the event doesnt happen do you still owe the amount of your bid? I finally got tickets to both games after an hour of sitting online searching "4 Best available tickets". What a PAIN in the NECK, but at least I got them for retail. Might have to use your method for World Series Tickets. GO STROS!!!
Yes - you're basically buying a "forward contract" in case the event happens with your team involved. What they do, I believe, is get x number of tickets in advance. For example, they have 8 Rose Bowl tickets. They sell 4 forwards for Texas, 4 for Virginia Tech, 4 for USC, 4 for Florida, 4 for each team out there basically. Then whichever two teams make the Rose Bowl, those fans get the right to buy tickets at face value, while the others lose their money. So it's a risk, but it can get you tickets at face value + the cost of the bid. It's not worth it for games you can probably get tickets at close to face value, but more rare tickets like Final Four, Superbowl, Rose Bowl, etc can be worth it. You can also then sell those rights just like a free market, essentially. I did WS tickets for the Astros about a month ago, and I got the forwards for something like $12 a piece. So if we make the WS, I can buy tickets for just slightly above face value. If we don't, I lose the $12 per ticket. Alternatively, I can sell those rights now for whatever people are willing to pay.
As a mini season ticket holder, I got my 4 tickets to each playoff game (including World Series). Damn I hope we make it.
