I voted Dan Patrick, because I'm bias hes a University of Dayton Alumn :D

But I actually like Berman, or at least now when he has the few appearances on the show.

Van Pelt has made me laugh a lot lately. I too think he mocks Stu Scott and I applaud him for it. I love the Arnold impression. "Get to da choppa!"

Who voted for Stuart Scott? Show yourself! I've got to hear this defense. Not even the "It's cool to be lame" argument will fly here.

Kenny Mayne wasn't hosting a while because he was one of the 50 in 50 guys.

I loved the time when he couldn't speak because he was laughing about Carl Lewis singing the National Anthem.

Dude, got married, been studying hard, working full time at a place that monitors the internet. Not too much time in the bbs.

I like Mayne of the guys still on ESPN regularly. All time, probably Kilborn or Olberman. Charlie Steiner had my favorite This Is Sportscenter ad, with the Y2K test.

EDIT: PSJ, your img/link is broken.

If I missed the thread, congratulations on getting married!
Heck, of course you've been busy. I recall it being difficult to stay out of the sack, or the floor, or the shower, or... well, it was difficult! And we'd been living together for 4 years. :)

I just saw this poll and just voted... for Stuart Scott since I really don't even know most of the other people on this list. I have no problem with Scott, actually has a very good style and delivery. If he was in a forensic competition, he would have a lot of success just based on his style.

i haven't seen mayne on SC in a long time. well before 50 in 50.

van pelt is easily my favorite now. he's the funniest but also rarely messes anything up and can seemlessly transition between his jokes and calling the highlight. and yes, referencing ATHF gives him a lot of bonus points.

berthiaume is great as well and if he toned it down a little, anderson would probably be 2nd. everett's done it a few nights in a row with van pelt recently and has been better than i remembered. everyone else is just kind of there.

i don't know how anyone can vote for patrick. he's so stale when he does it these days. just put a robot up there to read the highlights. back in the day he was great with olbermann, but lets face it, olbermann's comedy carried that duo to it's reputation. now patrick just seems like he's mailing it in when he does SC.

whatever happened to rich eisen? i remember those commercials about "it's good to be rich" but i don't remember what it was for and haven't seen him since. scott/eisen was the second best duo ever after patrick/olbermann. they may have had even better chemistry. hideki irraaaa-booyah!

and PSJ needs to be punished for making me have to scroll over to read some of the responses.

I think in David Baron's article, or something else, said that Kenny Mayne didn't like being couped up in Bristol, and he wanted to get around, so that is why he did the Mayne Event.

I like Kenny Mayne, he was good.

I don't really pay attention to them anymore. They're all generic wannabes of something. I still watch sportscenter, because that's what I've been programed to do basically.

I think SC really has a solid group right now...I like Van Pelt and John Anderson both a lot. Greenburg is good too. I don't think Dan Patrick or Stu Scott will be going anywhere soon unless they choose to do so, no matter how tired the viewers get of them.
