roy jones jr. seems pretty confident coming into this fight, but as alot of people say, Tarver probably shouldnt ever had lost to him in the first fight... the fight is in tarvers home town of Tampa, FL. who wins tonight.....?

Tarver has looked clearly better than Roy in both previous fights, I think it will be even worse tonight. I'll take Tarver in a KO before the 8th round.
Your right Antonio shouldn't have lost in the first place.......but it seems like Roy is more effective.....Antonio needs KO to win.
Roy has been back in training with his father, and made 2 pounds under the weight limit. He seems to be motivated more than ever, his legacy is on the line. That said, he's never hurt Tarver, so I say if he wins it will be on points. If Tarver wins, we'll never hear the end of it from him.

It wasn't even close. Tarver dominated most of the match and just killed him the last couple of rounds.
Jones admitted after the match he basically fought to not get knocked out, and seemed happy. He was in there for the money, bottom line, he knew he couldn't win.
How much money did this fight land him? I hear folks taking about his tanished legacy as a result of this defeat - now I ask - is legacy overrated? Would you damn legacy for a fat payday?
Seems like most fighters just come up against someone who has their number, even if that fighters body of work is not as great (Homes/Spinks - Delahoya/Mosley etc). Sad to see. Roy Jones is without a doubt the most magnificient boxer I have ever seen. He was awesome in his prime. Sad to see him go out like this but it is almost always the path of a modern boxer.
Both he and Tarver were supposed to get around $5 million. Regarding his legacy, he said he didn't want people to remember him being on his back. So, I guess he succeeded to an extent.
Jones had blazing speed and made Tarver look bad when he felt like it. However, he mostly chose to dance around and laugh and taunt Tarver. He had Tarver ready to go in the 11th and 12th but didn't have the killer instinct to do it. Ever since he met Gerald McLellan (Jones's friend who was a devestating puncher but now is basically a vegetable because of a brutal match against Nigel Benn in England), he's fought to not get hurt, and mentally that is bad in a profession where your job is to hurt your opponent. Plus, he's well past his prime. He should've retired after winning the heavyweight title.
