so last night i told my son that sura was having surgery and would miss some time...and maybe never play again. he was like, "WHAT???" and then when we were putting him down for bed he said his prayers...and included one for Bob Sura today! my wife and i started laughing.
Lance is an ass. I can't listen to these guys anymore because of their pitching about the Astros and Drayton.
I'm scared to break the news to my family and girlfriends family... Sura is a family favorite... we even made a shirt for the dog that said "I <3 Sura"
I think he's just depressed over missing the beginning of the season again. He worked hard on his rehab (does anyone doubt it? thought not), which is an absolute b!tch to go through, and he's having to undergo yet another surgery. The guy wants to be on the floor. I was shocked at how quickly he came back last season from back surgery (the kind of rehab I have experience with), and I think the club will have to have Bob on a tight leash to keep him from doing himself harm by coming back too soon. We'll see him again. Let's hope he's really healthy for the first time in a long time. That would be awesome.
Just say no to dumbasses whose only memory form last season is one hand wave from god (Tmac) to a teammate in the heat of battle. Pair DA in the starting backcourt with Wesley. Get James and Barry a lot of PT from the bench. Introduce Sura slowely throughout the season and try to get him ready to give us a solid 20MPG for the playoffs. If that doesn't look like it is happening (Sura coming back) and other options are failing (Head not ready, other vets breaking down), make a move before the trade deadline. There is no need to panic and I still don't think we have a roster problem yet. Just one month ago we were trying to figure out what to do with 5 quality guards with not enough PT to go around. Stay the course and be patient, and still have some faith Sura will come back into the picture for his sake and the teams. But the team has other options if Sura just isn't meant to be, though I hope it doesn't come to that.
I'd really love to see a very healthy Bobby Sura step onto the court. And, even if he doesn't, I'm not too worried. It's not like we don't have enough guards.
true...but you know it only takes one report to get everyone repeating it. VG/CD dont seem to feel that his career is over yet...if his knee is too totally torn up..then it very well may be...but for now I'll take the word of the front office over papers/610 .
http://sport.monstersandcritics.com/basketball/article_1051563.php/Bob_Sura_has_knee_surgery I don't know this sight, but the source is UPI. Says BS will only be out a week. I don't know what to make of it. We are getting all kinds of conflicting information. From Monsters and Critics.com Basketball Bob Sura has knee surgery By UPI Sep 30, 2005, 19:00 GMT HOUSTON, TX, United States (UPI) -- Veteran Houston Rockets guard Bob Sura Thursday underwent minor surgery on his right knee. The team said on its Web site the procedure occurred on the back part of the knee and Sura is expected to be ready for training camp. 'I know he hurt his knee last year and he had it cleaned out this summer,' said General Manager Carroll Dawson. 'I think there`s a small tear in the back, from what the doctors tell me, that we`re going to have taken care of (Thursday). They don`t think it`ll be more than a week, as far as slowing him down, and he`ll be back going at it again.' The 6-foot-5 inch Sura, a 10-year veteran, averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 61 games last season. He was a first-round draft pick by Cleveland in 1995 and has career averages of 8.6 points and 3.8 assists per contest in 657 games. Copyright 2005 by United Press International
don't see anybody posting this yet.... http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/3376007 Sept. 29, 2005, 10:05PM Rockets optimistic about Sura's knee Team discloses no rehab timetable following surgery By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle Rockets guard Bob Sura on Thursday underwent what the team deemed to be successful arthroscopic knee surgery, though no estimates were made about when Sura could resume workouts. Sura, 32, said Wednesday the condition in his right knee could be career-threatening, describing Thursday's procedure to remove particles as the key to whether he could play again. But the Rockets were optimistic the surgery, his second since the end of the season, would correct problems. "There were just a lot of particles left and there was a flap of cartilage in there and some little bony pieces that they took out," Rockets trainer Keith Jones said. "They got everything cleaned up, and it's just a matter of letting those bony surfaces heal. We just cleaned it out. "Dr. (Walter) Lowe said he would wait until he sees him again (late next week) to put a timetable on everything. We just told Bobby it was going to be a slower rehab than we did this summer. We're just going to take it slow and easy and when he's ready, he's ready." Jones said no other medical issues surfaced with Wednesday's team physicals.
y is sura so negative about his surgery and y is the team so positive?... is sura on the trading block and he doesnt want to get traded... anyone have any insider info?
