somebody else on the bbs started a thread about their bum ankle and got some pretty good advice. so, i figure i'll give it a shot.
i broke my thumb skateboarding about a month ago. during the fall i landed pretty hard on the top of my hand (hand folded-over, top to the cement.) i went to the "emergency room" to have x-rays and they revealed two very small fractures in the carpals of my left thumb (the two outer-most bones.) however, the x-rays didn't reveal any damage to any of my other carpals or metacarpals nor my wrist. the problem i'm having is that my next two fingers (at the joint where the finger meets the hand) hurt like crazy and are still somewhat swollen. also, my wrist, while completely mobile, hurts as well.
anyone know of a good hand specialist (or general orthopedic) in austin?
    thanks in advance.
