Thank you for an intelligent response. Yes, those point guards were better than our PG's were in last year's playoffs. A healthy Sura (I am a fan BTW) would certainly have helped, but there are question marks all over him. Even JVG admitted earlier this summer he also was concerned about BS's health. DA may certainly be a help at the 2, but I question his ability at the 1, simply because I have not seen him with this team. We can't afford to get off to a sputtering start again this year, not if we want to seriously challenge for a ring. Most of the top teams in the West have weakened themselves IMO. SA has about held tight although Bowen and Horry are older they did pick up Finley.

I have to believe our management has something going, or at least I hope they do. If Sura was healthy you wouldn't be reading this post until maybe January.

I'm not ready to hit the panic button yet with or without Sura. I like the moves we have made to date for the most part and we do have some expiring contracts, right? (I'm an out of towner, don't keep up as much) I'm willing to wait and see how this team jells and if we need help perhaps we can ream someone at the trade deadline. Maybe a name that hasn't been discussed could come up as a potential trade at that time. If we do have expiring contracts for leverage this may add a little incentive to the combo guards to step up their play at the point position or they might be included in a package deal to New Orleans or Atlanta.

IMO we need to get our PG now! Trade deadline is the opportunity to pick off a plum, not be forced to settle for a lesser PG we have to have to make the playoffs. CD and JVG did a remarkable job last year, but you can not expect that to be your everyday method of building your team. Trading DW is an option since he does have value now. You cannot get something for nothing. We have a glut of 2's although DW may be the best of the bunch. That is precisely why he has trade value. Even with TMac, Yao, and SS we still need an accomplished QB, that is what Bobby Sura gave us last year, as long as he could.

Hmmmm, guess it wasn't a complete fantasy.

Well......, okay. I guess we'll keep Wesley then. Now what was that, that you were saying about Alston? I guess the coaches don't share your opinion either.

I think the Rockets Organization value Clutchfans opinions :) I remember TMac's name was regularly posted years before he was traded for :)
