Hey guys, I know it's a bit early for that, but if someone is driving around town later this afternoon and comes across restaurants/grocery stores/cafe shops that are operating today, let us know. I am getting very bored here and need a place to go eat and hangout. Especially if you're driving down Westheimer, let us know if some dining places are operational. Thanks
Nothing is really opened yet. I saw a sign on a corner store said they were opening at noon. I bet its the same story. As the day progresses, more and more places will open up.
Where are you located . .. side of town Also . .. what will they have so many of them were stripped that they may not have anything to sell I figure the Ma and Pa shops will be the 1st to opens folx that stayed in town to PROTECT their business now they see . . HEY we can actually open today so they may do so . . . Like u said. . . around noon time Rocket River
What was the name of that Italian restaurant on Westheimer that they featured on KPRC Ch.2 last night? That guy kept his restaurant up and running through the night, I am sure he will open up today.
I would love to go see a movie or something today. Anything to get out of the house. I'm guessing the problem is a lot of employees are out of town.
It's probably going to be Tuesday or Wednesday (maybe later) before things are near back to normal. I'm very curious what the school districts will be doing. HISD has called Monday off but it's gonna be tough to ramp back up at all next week. Tell you what, if the Blockbuster @ Hwy6 & Murphy opens up and I can rent the brand new PS2 Ultimate Spiderman for my son, he will be set for all of next week if FBISD stays closed. Otherwise, I'm gonna go insane.
There aren't really a lot of mom-and-pop businesses out where I live. I just tried to call the local AMC theatre, Costco warehouse, and Kroger and nobody answered. Even the employees that stayed in town are probably doing the same thing I am - hanging out, picking up debris, reorganizing the house. I can't imagine too many businesses are going to open before tomorrow...things are going to be disrupted for a few days while employees return and stores restock. My plan is to live on my emergency supplies for at least the next day or two, and just chill out and watch DVDs. Why didn't I stock up on beer?
chachos on westheimer will be opening up soon. called around 11am and they said they will be open in a hour or two.
Great! I will be going towards Westheimer soon, hopefully a few of the places I frequent will be open for business.
..boys I am not 23 anymore, I can't eat this crap I guess I will be eating non-perishables after all !
Think of the business Dominos and Pizza Hut would be doing today...of course they'd run out of gas trying to deliver it all.
I think it is mostly about what if any employees they have in town and if they willing to work I called Chachos. . . to see if they open yet. . . now they saying 6pm I shole is hungry Rocket River
La Tratoria. Also, The Home Plate Bar and Grill said they'd be open today. Located by MMP. Curious also if the "Katz's never closes" held up.
I noticed that some small stores are opening up on Bissonnett in the SW area. I guess this is becuse it looks like some kind of sun is break through the cloud. I understand the airports will be open for busniess as sson as tonight, and wlamart opens tomorrow morning/afternoon. At least Cubs and Astros go at it in a few minutes plus college football games. I am thankful that our beloved city is in good shape and returning to normalcy soonest.
