Hey guys, I did not really know where to put this thread but I figured that this would be as good a place as any. If it doesn't belong just remove it.

As many of you know the two of the best NBA video games will release their new titles soon. NBA Live 2006 and NBA 2K6 will soon compete head to head. I was bored and surfing the net and I found that they recently released their top 25 player rankings.

Here is Live's top 25 player rankings:
    http://sports.ign.com/articles/652/652414p1.html
    They've got T-Mac at #4 and Yao at #23

Here is 2K6's top 25 player rankings:
    http://sports.ign.com/articles/652/652629p1.html
Here T-Mac is #9 and Yao is at #28

In my opinion these rankings are total crap. However it did help pass the time.

    P.S.
If you want all the player rankings for Live you can get them right here just follow the link on that page:

    Very bad ranking!

In Live 06 how they put lebron and kobe in front of Duncan, and I would pick T-Mac over Lebron

and I shaq is better than marion and wade, for me shaq is in the top 5.

And In 2k6; Wade is over tmac.

    Blasphemy!

I liked the game 2k had last year, only because it was much cheaper.....
But they had the worst video for the Toyota center games (yao getting crossed up and falling on his ass)

Okay how is Tracy 99 from close range and Yao is only 94. Shouldn't that be switched. Yao is about as automatic as anyone in the league from 7-10 ft and in.

"Notable players not in the Top 25: Melo (86), Dirk (86),Elton Brand (86), Jermaine O'Neal (86), Ben Wallace (85), Kenyon Martin (85), Steve Nash (85)."

You know the list is a joke when you see Jason Richardson at #25 and then you read this.

i bet it is because yao misses a lot of dunks. anyways, 2k6 will be the better sim basketball game and i can't wait for it to come out. should be out by the time the hurricane is gone. perfect timing huh?

I dont know why everyone likes 2k series, I think the last two years Live has been better and I am expecting the same thing this year. What is everyone gonna buy and why? I am buying Live no doubt about it

i'm getting 2K6 tuesday for the xbox because it is the best NBA simulation out there. Live is an arcade game, not a sim.....the graphics are cartoon-ish, and the players skate/float around the court, and they're always all about the flash and the dunks. I got NBA Street for that. The 2K series always has better graphics, better gameplay and better overall feel. But i'm still geting Live 06 for my psp.

Because Live is too arcadish, 2K series has more strategy involved....

I like Live better. IMO EA sports makes a better basketball video game, game play wise whether it's simulation or arcade.

BUT, I will be getting 2K again this year just like last year because of the price. You can't beat the $20 price....unless ofcourse they don't have that cheap price again this year.....then I'm going with LIVE>

I've always gotten the games in the 2K series since they first started coming out in '99. However, I think the NBA game has been going downhill since 2K2. That was the best basketball game ever! Last year I chose Live over 2K for the first time. I don't think I'll get either one this year (there's only time for Halo 2 on Live), so I don't know which one I would pick.

2K6 is priced at $39 this year. Of course Live is probably around $50.

Honestly, that $20 price last year was amazing. Not going to see that again unless the competition forces it.
