So how much alcohol did everyone stock up? I had the following: 24 pack Bass 18 pack Bud Light 12 pack Negro Modelo 12 pack Dos XX 12 pack Rollong Rock 2 Liter Vodka (Skyy an Tito) Cruzan Raspberry Rum Cruzan Coconut Rum Various leftover home brews Perhaps this should go in an alcy thread
Add Mrs. Valdez and baby Valdez to the list. They're riding it out in the Greenspoint area. I'm out of state and just fine; just can't get back home. I'll post that she's ok when I hear from her after the storm. I think your ex is safe. That's way on the north side and I don't believe particularly flood prone.
Well, we were worried about the age of our house and the fact that there's a field behind our backyard with those huge metal powerline towers, so we headed over to our uncle's house which is one of those brick wall communities, not gated though. It's just like 10 minutes from where we live. When we left, there was still some sun and the wind was light. As soon as we got here, it started raining and the wind picked up. Anyways, we've got all our family in houston here together except for my cousin who goes to Clemson. It should be a lot of fun over here.
Well done my friend. Hope you have a deck of cards. If not, I'm sure you could come up with some interesting hurricane drinking games: - Neil Frank says "cone", everyone takes a drink for 5 secs - Each time they use the term "wobble", take a drink - When they go to a field reporter, everyone take a shot. ...
How's everyone doing so far? Out in west houston the winds are starting to pick up slightly, but nothing much. My wife has been getting a little tense today, worrying what the situation will be like if we lose power with 12 people in our house and they get stuck for days because of the flooding. I just heard Dr. Neal say that our part of town should expect lighter winds than those further east (obviously.)
We live very close to you... I am in Minnesota now but my folks and in laws are riding it out on the NW side also.
it looks good right now. who knows maybe we'll have power thru the night. im glad we didn't take the risk of leaving.

out here in Baytown....light winds(20-30)...a little rain. really hoping we can keep power...if not my neighbor has a couple of generators and my extension cord is already run over to his garage.
crazy pics - an empty westheimer i should have taken some pics of sugar land yesterday. it was kind of strange sight driving down austin parkway to highway 6 yesterday afternoon. while some sugar land residents were hanging out at the little man-made lake playing in the park, throwing the football, and fishing, just up the road on highway 6, other people were in bumper to bumper traffic thinking about getting out of houston in time to save themselves
LOL, was that your house in those first pics drapg? I particularly enjoyed the Dental office with the stips of tape on the window, you can tell they realized how useless that was when they made a giant tooth with the tape on one window.
