Why is it always Capers, Capers, Capers? Why isn't Casserly feeling any heat?

If the Texans do not dramatically improve, then I truly believe that Capers will be gone at season's end. With Casserly looking to be the next one to go if they don't improve next season.

The O-line sucks. There really is no other way to say it. The O-line has had time to gel, they've had time to grasp the zone blocking scheme, you could send them to a retreat together to bond and sing kumbaya, and they still wouldn't give Carr enough time to blink.

As for Carr, I think something is up with him, I think he's playing timid due to the fact that he's been sacked 150 times in three seasons and knocked down countless other times.

Sunday' s lackluster play is everyone's fault from GM, to HC, to assistants, to players, hell lets blame the water boy.

Casserly had all off season to get some O-line help, instead he gave Morlon Greenwood a truck load of money, and for what he never did anything of note in Miami. He signed a right tackle to play left tackle in Victor Riley and got rid of Swinton, who was the first real threat the Texans had at a return man.

Capers and Co. should have had a better game plan and done a better job getting the players ready. The players should have played like they had a pair.

Well I guess the water boy was the only one who did his job.

    Hope it gets better.

Ultimately, it's Capers who does the game prep with his staff. Casserly does deserve a lot of the blame for not going after the players this team needed, specifically some of the great o-line talent that was out there this offseason.

It was Capers who decided twice not to go for it on 4th down in the 4 quarter with less than 10 minutes left and down 22-7. It was Capers' OC, Palmer, who seemed to forget that they installed a 3-step drop and proceeded to get Carr killed.

My biggest problem was the 4th and inches in the 4th quarter. That was basically Capers saying, "I don't believe in you guys enough to pick up a few inches and to keep this drive going. We're going to mail it in from here." That is a killer to a team's psyche. It's literally that play that I will look to in January should this team fail to improve from here. That was Capers giving up in Week 1.

NO THANKS!!! I hate that stupid smerk that Chucky looking idiot makes during games.

One name no one mentioned is Gary Cubiac. I think he would be a natural fit here. Still I would rather see Jimmy Johnson because he is a high energy coach and good motivater. Something this young team needs. Capers did a good job of starting this team but doesnt seem to know how to deal with young players. He is more suited to run a veteran team.

Gruden is overrated, he's a good offensive mind but when it comes to on the field coaching he makes questionable decisions and is also a poor player talent evaluator (like letting Jerry Porter rot on the bench for his first 2 seasons)

The only coach from college I would have wanted anywhere near the Raiders was Nick Saban, wish we could have brought him in.

I think Carr gave up on the team, more so on his O-line. He knows they will never be able to protect him. He probably lost confidence in Palmer and management. I think he probably is sick and tired like all of us with the same crap, if you can't please your QB then the team is pretty much screwed. It was obvious from his reactions last Sunday that he gave up.

Imagine him thinking why won't they upgrade the O-line for my protection, why won't they get more offensive weapons? I think Casserly is as much responsible as Capers, his decision making has been below average at best.

After 4 years of no protection, i really wouldn't blame Carr for starting to give up. This is his career at stake and we're doing nothing to protect him from injuries. He already holds the record for getting sacks, i just wish the fans weren't the only ones blind about his lack of protection.

Capers won't get canned during the season but all bets are off afterward. That's because a look at their schedule shows them with 11 possible losses:

    Buffalo
    Pittsburgh
    Cincinnati
    Indiannapolis (twice)
    Jacksonville (twice)
    Kansas City
    Baltimore
Tennessee (I expect them to split the series)
    Seattle

I rate their chances as even in the following games:

    Cleveland
    Arizona
    Tennesee (at Reliant)
St. Louis (not really impressed by them)
    San Francisco

I don't think that McNair will sit still for a 5-11 season. I look at Capers and he reminds me of those WWI British generals who kept ordering their infantry out of their trenches and into "no man's land" where the German machine gunners cut them to ribbons and then wondering why their assaults failed. For 3 weeks now after a poor showing on the field, Capers has said that the problems are correctible yet during the next game, the same problems are still there for all to see. I listened to him yesterday on 610 and I swear that he began to sound more and more like Jack Pardee. It's going to be a looooonnng season.

In response to the 3-step, this is what Capers said in the chron:

Capers said the reason the Texans didn't use the three-step drop they worked on in the offseason and training camp was because the Bills took it away.

"Their thought process was to take the quick passing game away because that's what they'd seen us throw a lot in preseason," he said. "They played two-deep coverage, and you have to be able to run the ball against two-deep coverage."

As for not going for it on 4th, he said on the radio yesterday that he put his trust in the defense (as they improved in the 2nd half), because if they did not get the first down, that would put the game out of reach if the Bills scored once more.

I'm losing faith in Capers, because he always has an excuse and most of the mistakes in the game are usually mental mistakes and that comes (IMO) from lack of preparation, thus lack of confidence.

I say if we have a below 500 season the whole coaching staff gets whacked. If we end up with a top 3 pick then i think everyone (including that moron Casserly) should get whacked.

I think Grey is the only realistic possability. I doubt stoops is gonna leave. Same with fisher and carroll. Jimm J is overrated. Must i remind you of the Miami Dolphins.

ON a side note: I think Casserly should be fired now. How the hell do you pass up on a Hall of Famer like Julius Peppers? HOw many players from our 4 drafts are starting? And why the hell do you pass up Derick Johnson for a project like Travis Johnson? Because he doesnt fit your defense. Cassreley you dont have the luxury of passing up on playmakers that dont fit your scheme. Were not Pittsburgh or New England. You pick the best available player period. And then you worry about your presish scheme.

Fire Casserly know!!!!!

What about Gary Kubiak ? I was hearing his name in the initial hiring of the Texans Head Coach . I think he would do a good job here .

typical capers malarky. wouldn't going for it show trust in the defense that they could hold buffalo after the turnover on downs?

    gonna be a loooooooooooong season....
