If I was a war-mongering chicken hawk I don't wanna talk about Iraq too..

Lets talk about something else.. how about attacking Iran?

I disagree. I guess you think this isn't disrespectful, since you not only responded to it in a positive way but re-quoted it in your post in the 9/11 thread:

    "...as Hayes idiotically suggested..."

And what is a troll exactly? Someone who says the same thing in every thread? Someone who hijacks threads on one topic and redirects it to the same topic that person always talks about?

Listen kid, you've been here what - a week? Come back when you can sit at the grownup's table.

Hayes, sorry I said: "idiotically" with regard to your thinking that patriotic Americans who disagree with the Iraq War you support need to be silent. I almost said "self-servingly" instead of "idiotically" . The idiotically was said somewhat in jest. Would "self-servingly have made you feel better?

Hayes, you make the same points over and over. How many threads can you try to basically say Muslims are bad (and therefore you support some sort of war of civilizations or the Iraq War.) I don't think you are the great innocent who does not trying to bend topics to your two or three main concerns either.

Sometime I guess it would be nice to try to stake out the supposedly nice guy neutral fact finding middle of the road position as a number of consistently conservative posters continually attempt to claim..

Old joke. "Sometimes I wish I could take the conservative position in policy debates. When you win, you get the thrill of victory. When you lose you know that justince has been done."

Somebody more experienced with this forum should develop a D&D drinking game...

For me, this place has stopped being fun. It is too vicious. I have better things to do than trade insults and veiled insults with people. I'm a human being damnit! :D

You know what, I've posted articles on different energy sources, intellectualism, Buddhism, etc. and they just don't have the response that Bush, Iraq, evolution, and Christianity has.

Would it be better if I said you self-servingly oppose war, even in Afghanistan? A little ex post facto justification for a draft dodger? :p

Please point out any thread (ANYWHERE) where I say Muslims are bad people. That's the problem. When I write opposing your viewpoint I use what you've actually said against you, instead of making stuff up.

If you were a moderate then you just wouldn't be you, Glynch.

    That IS funny. :)

I hope I haven't contributed too much to this. We have antagonistic exchanges from time to time, but I hope you take it as I do - in stupid fun. For some reason messing with you is more enjoyable for me than anyone else. Something about the way you communicate and your general thought process. Seriously, though, if it has gotten to be too annoying for you I will do my best to tone it down.

Hayes - you have certainly gotten more antagonistic the longer you have been here. Have you noticed that? It is the lack of daily Brit exposure, isn't it?

The stakes are higher than ever before, that's why both sides are more passionate than before.

And in spirit of the new D&D, y'all are WROOOOONG!

Could be - lol - (probably the lack of a midday pint) or maybe its my lack of vacation time in France. I'll take your word for it and 'do my best to tone it down.' :)

OK, I am in need of grammar clarification - lack of vacation time to go to France or lack of vacation time while you are currently in France. If it is the latter, I loathe you. If it is the former, I can sympathize. My last visit was two years ago and I didn't even have enough time to visit my old flat and my old school.

Loathe is a little harsh, no? I just meant it was easier to take time out and go vacationing in France when I was in the UK. Didn't mean to be confusing...

I go through cycles. I wish things would not be LCD's. EVERYTHING in here goes instantly to the lowest common denominator in about two posts. I think a lot of the posters in here are young and I like their youthful spirit. I hope that most of them find good jobs and prosper in this society and learn to think more conservatively. They will. The hardened older democrats or liberal minded folks in here I respect and admire. They drive me batty but I respect them. America needs them. They are the dreamers and idealists that provide our culture with diversity and forward thinking.

I truly wish everyone would dispense with the poo flinging. Everytime I read that Bush is the seventh son of Satan or is the reason 10,000 people in New Orleans died or is a money grabbing good-old-boy in the White house for profit and oil money I just want to cringe because I believe that this is far from the truth. And it is this rhetoric that so many of you guys instantly go to. It's tired.

Unfortunately, I have probably been part of the problem here.

When I started posting here (on the board, not just the D&D), I was almost exclusively a D&D poster. I loved being able to crystallize my beliefs on a subject through thoughtful debate on said subject. I can honestly say that my beliefs on abortion have clarified and solidified in part because of the debates I had with MadMax and giddyup early on. I also loved getting a sense of what people here believed about the WoD, my personal pet peeve with the government, and enjoyed showing some people what I believe is the only correct path for us to take.

But, the LCD what it is, I allowed myself to become terribly annoyed at a small subset of posters on the "conservative" side (I don't consider them true conservatives, that title goes to a bunch of posters I respect) and allowed myself to get caught up in various wars of words.

I have not been posting much recently as I have been pretty busy at work and will not be posting much in the near future as my wife just had our second son. However, when I am here from now on, I will take up Deckard's battle cry: Keep the D&D civil.

I apologize to those I may have driven away from this forum through the use of personal attacks.

I wish I could say I was still a young kid in school, then again the military would no longer want me in a draft. Always remember, laughter is the best medicine. Never take politics too serious or we will all end up acting like members of Taiwan's parliment.

Different people have different views and I suppose that's what the "freedom" thing is all about.

More importantly - congratulations on your second son!
