You could be running out of resources. Do you have enough memory? Do you have a lot of things running at once? Have you de-fragmented lately? How much free space is on your hard drive? You could also have something running or stuck in the background. Does re-starting help? ------------------ Stay Cool...
I already checked restarting, it doesn't help, unfortunately. I just hope it's a hardware problem of some sort, and that a new keyboard will replace it. I've got SO much stuff I'd have to backup... and I do have a virus shield, although it probably needs an update. ------------------ I would believe only in a God who could dance. - Friedrich Nietzsche Boston College - NCAA Hockey National Champions 2001
Step 1 : Turn your machine off and plug in a different keyboard to see if the problem persists. I've seen this happen and it's almost always a stuck key. If it's the keyboard, you can buy a new one "fairly cheap". ------------------ NBA Draft Lottery is May 20th. Start praying now.
Argh! Last night, my computer at home started malfunctioning, and it's getting worse. It only involves typing - whenever I type a letter, there seems to be like a 1/3 chance or so that it will be immediately deleted. I checked the delete key... it's not stuck or anything, neither is the backspace key. It seems utterly random, and makes typing impossible, etc. Thank God finals are over... all it means is that clutchcity.net posting and emailing will be difficult, but I still want to get it fixed asap. Any ideas? If anyone knows, I'll worship them eternally, and dub them "the all powerful God of IT." ------------------ I would believe only in a God who could dance. - Friedrich Nietzsche Boston College - NCAA Hockey National Champions 2001
