Anyone watch? I was surprised by how entertaining this series is. I wouldn't give it a 10, but it is quite watchable. It's great to have 'adult' scifi shows. (BTW, I think they should use Penrose's hypothesis re. human consciousness... i.e. quantum effects in the brain's microtubules... to question whether the cylons may actually be 'alive'. I.e., if they function using quantum computers... eh... er.... any other geeks out there? )
When the original series came on, I fantasized of setting fire to that fuzzy robot pet. I've seen the new show once, but I didn't find it addicting.
I liked the first show, but now it seems rather cheesy. The new BSG is great because it is much darker and much more realistic of a a civilization on the run.
the show is confusing as hell. where is earth? who created the cylons? where the hell can the doctor see the fine cylon chick but no one esle can?
Earth is considered mythical by most, they think that they can find it and save themselves. They created the cylons. It has not been explained, yet, why the scientist/VP can see Tricia Helfer. Maybe he's just lucky?
Actually, they've discounted the "chip in the brain" and the "psychotic episode" hypothesises, so they've actually spent some time hinting. Also, at one point, she says "the rest of the Cylons don't know I've done this", which could be misinformation, durring the mini-series or during one of the first couple of episodes, but they've spent a lot of time hinting around it.
It is a good show. I also really like the Star Gate show, I don't watch it very often but when it is on I'll stay tuned and watch it. Some of the episodes are really good.
I got hooked on it, but the pacing frustrates me. I hope it doesn't take 5 years to find Earth, otherwise it'll be like that Star Trek.... Still, show is great, though I'd rather some characters die, the scientist/VP.
I guess i'm the only loser who Tivo's both Stargate shows and Battlestar Gallactica. However, it did take me awhile to get into SG Atlantis.
BSG rocks!!!! The show is very well written and the actors are great SG-1 has really got me into it when they added the Farscape actors. Great shows SG-Atlantis is good as well
That there is a mystery no one will ever solve, just like no one will ever solve the mystery of why Dom Capers didn't go for it on fourth down and inches... Dude, why the two spaces after every word? (only legible if I replied)
Sci Fi is the only place I watch series, Star Gates and BSG. BSG is much better than the original series. One question, why would cylons make babies with humans and how are they doing it? Are they creating human eggs in cylon females?
