BTW, this is pro football, no team is gonna walk out there and give their qb 5 to 7 seconds every pass play. I'm not saying the O-Line played well, but they get no help either.
Alright... there's no point in arguing about this anymore. Those who hate Carr believe its mostly all his fault. Those who hate Palmer will think its all his fault. Those who hate Casserly for his "personel" decisions will blame him, and those who hate Capers and his "defense" will go against him. I hate the O-line... and will blame it all on them. Now that we all have chosen sides, lets go to war and see who gets the most blame at the end of the year... I'm pretty sure I'll win.
This just in.....David Carr still sucks ! This guy is horrible, he has no feel for the game. Sure his offensive line is questionable, but he doesn't help by holding the ball forever. Damn, I regret letting Jamal Lewis go so I could keep Andre Johnson in my fantasy league...he has no one to throw him the ball....UGH ! DD
On the contrary... the average NFL team does give their QB more time than they normally get rushed. Warren Moon had more time in the run and shoot... and they had one less guy blockiing. David Carr does not get more time than he gets pressured... and if you really believe that its more Carr's fault than the lines... then its no suprise that you were the biggest Orlando Magic fan on this board last year.
You start with the coaches, if by week three this team has not shown drastic imporvement the Capers and Palmer should be GONE.
That was Carr's fault... he should have thrown the ball into his hands even if he wasn't even looking for it.
I don't hate Carr, I'm just sick of the excuses. Carr would be star if he had an O-Line. Carr would be a star if he had another receiver. Carr would be star if he had better playcalling. You know what, If Carr was a freaking star than he would be one. He's not.
This stinks. I have to watch this team all year long and suffer with them. When do the Rockets start again?
Name one star QB who played with an O-line this bad.... there's not one starter on the line who would be a lock to be a starter for most teams.
Man, what an embarrasing performance. This team plays like a bunch of quitters. And this typically reflects on the coaches. The ice is getting thinner for some of them. Zero props to guys like Gaffney either, who apparently have no desire to improve themselves.
How about... Texans O-line <<<<<<<<<<<< A Creampuff In the last three years, between Carr and limited play by Banks, the o-line has allowed 153 sacks on the QB (140 of the 153 were sacks on David Carr). That's about 51 sacks a year allowed by the O-line - That is atrocious. If you look at someone like P Manning, he has been sacked a total of 54 times in the last three years. That's only 18 sacks per year for the last three years. Now, I am in noooooooooooooooooooo way saying the David Carr is another P. Manning, but I would love to see just how much better David's playmaking ability and/or stats would be if he was given the type of quality line that a P. Manning has working for him.
Quick, name a lineman who played for the Broncos in 1988. This is stupid, any star I name you're gonna say he had an awesome line.
Seriously, punting there is a fireable offense if you this team were an actual playoff contender. As it is, He's just trying to keep the score pretty.
And Carr's stats were better than half the other AFC QB's last year... and would have been better had the team showed up the last game of the season. The problem starts and ends with the O-line. Carr does not have a problem with arm-strength, athleticism, and his accuracy is there if given time. I have no idea what his decision making capability is beause he normally has to get rid of it so fast... and if he does have time, its almost foreign to him (and the team) that nobody knows what they're doing half the time. When Carr got into a rhythm last year... he was very effective. That's my evidence to say that its an o-line problem more than a QB one.
They at least had Keith Bishop... a pro-bowler... for the 86 and 87 teams that went to the Super Bowl.
