Actually, it takes a deficit too.

Seven of our last 8 wins are now come-from-behind wins. Davis is forced to call a little more aggressive when down. Look at the last series last night. There were only a few other plays in the game where Davis made them pay for keying all the LB's on Vince (after the first series).

I still can't believe we won!! That was one of the greatest games I've ever seen. The OSU linebacking crew is the best in the NCAA, period. They've got the speed and strength and the know-how to really bring that team far.

    A couple points:

    1. You can tell that they really didn't prepare for VY to pass for 270 yards. OSU did a treamendous job spying VY the whole game, however, our offensive line did a great job of giving VY time in the pocket and he delivered.

    2. Chizik is a god!! I sure hope he doesn't get head coach offers like Robinson got from Syracuse. His defense won us the game, 3 turnovers (2 in our territory) and Aaron Harris and co. took care of business. Our secondary also did a terrific job on stopping Ginn and Holmes (for the most part).

    3. The OSU linebacking crew is the best in the NCAA, period. They've got the speed and strength and the know-how to really bring that team far. A.J. Hawk is a beast.

    4. UT really needs to polish their special teams. Field position was going to be our downfall, everyone needs to give Chizik a kiss. Our kickoff coverage was pretty bad for the most part, really reminded me of the Rose Bowl game.

    5. Selvin Young is done. I hate to say it, but he's just not all there. He hesitates through the holes and 2 fumbles in 2 games is unexcusable. I have no problem with Charles and Melton finishing the season.

    _____________

Indeed, how many years now has UT sucked at stopping punt/kick returns?

Agreed. I'm hoping he bounces back, because he's extremely talented. This is the same guy that was pushing Cedric Benson for carries as a freshman.

That said, I think Jamaal Charles can be big time...He's almost got Vince Young-level swagger...see that hit after the AJ Hawk interception?

Selvin Young smokes the lettuce too much. I'm sure if he puts down the lettuce, he could do much better. His sophomore year in high school was pretty damn awesome.

I saw good things with this guy.

Selvin was awsome playing behind Cedric, but I don't think he'll be back in full force ever. He just doesn't have that extra kick he had. He hesitates through the holes and fumbles will kill you. Obviously, the 11 screws in his ankle aren't helping.

I think the future lies with Jamaal Charles and Henry Melton.

He also played behind the guy who broke Tony Dorsett's All-Time rushing record. You don't get that much of a chance when playing behind a player like Ricky Williams or Cedric Benson, it's what you do when you get the chance.

Selvin was a very good kick return guy, he also had good carries behind Benson. But I don't think he can be our go-to guy, playing behind Benson really opens things up for you. He doesn't have that extra zing because of his ankle, but he has also been very indecisive when hitting his holes.

Also, does anyone know where I can get extensive highlights of the game? I was suppose to be recording it but something went wrong.

I would love to see the whole 4th quarter if possible.

    Absolutely.

Anybody who watched the Sun Bowl vs North Carolina and especially the game against Nebraska wouldve realized this guy had huge potential if not for his injury.

Selvin tried to get bigger which negated all his quickness. Even a healthy, slimmer Selvin is just not as talented as Jamaal Charles.

Charles has great running instincts and is very shifty. Even though he's not particularly big, he likes to run between the tackles.

Charles will eventually be a Carnell Williams type back.

Wasn't Priest a senior when Ricky was a Freshman? Priest had plenty of opportunity to make an impression at Texas. He just was never particularly consistent - great at times (Nebraska 1996), terrible at others. He was great at somersaulting over the goal line though.

You're right, don't know what I was thinking. But I think it's all about consistency. The running game is our bread & butter, you need to be consistent for the coaches to play you.

Congratulations UT fans. You guys played well. Too bad our offense couldn't do anything with the work Hawk and crew did. Without our D and our special teams, this one would've been a blowout.

I've been over to the OSU board and mostly a bunch of classy fans who are both educated and passionate about their football. Pretty d*mn impressive that their band took the field after the game to play Texas Fight. That's right, the OSU band. D*mn fine sportsmanship.

I hope we show them some good Texas hospitality before we beat them next year. :)

I'm pretty sure Ricky was a sophomore for Priest's senior year. That would be the year where we beat Nebraska in the first big 12 championship, if i remember correctly.

i really appreciate you rooting for the horns. in fact, i watched the game with a sooner fan (born and raised in OK) who was also rabidly cheering on the horns. however, by "being born in oklahoma," you can NEVER be a "true Texan." sorry.

    go horns...
